Since i've got my Agility 3 pre-ordered, i've deciding to do one of these on my caviar black drive, and the results are quite abit different, but a lot better than expected:
I like how theres not once where the old drive is faster, and is well off the pace consistently
ATTO is more suitable for the Vertex 2/3 SSD's because it uses compressible data and this is how the Sandforce controller chip works (compresses data). AS Benchmark and Crystal disk use incompressible data and so you don't get an accurate benchmark. It could be argued that the controller chip should not compress data to achieve these speeds but it does a damn fine job so who cares?
Surely the best benchmark would give you a value for both compressible and incompressible data?
Having said that, the V3 is still a storming drive even when working with incompressible data. The Intel Elmcrest is about the only drive that can even begin to keep up with it (although I believe the M4 is a decent drive too).
