you could spend that just leaving a few lights on for a few hours a day...

i mean at least your getting someting useful out of it..

i cant be bothered to work out how much my 500W system is using.. and my 30" dell monitor.. but.. im trying to combat that by leaving other things off.. like turning tv's OFF when not watchin instead of standby.. etc etc

our electricity went up quite a bit once i started folding.. but im not really bothered about the cost anyway.. my pc would be on even if i werent folding..

could someone do the maths for my 500W system? 24/7 full load..

Keep up the fold anyway

EDIT:: i used that PSU calculator thing.. and it said that i need 500W to power my system.. but my gfx is on low clocks and low volts as i dont use it for gaming anymore.. so you could probably drop that a bit..

Ok - when folding with monitor off (gpu in idle)

E6400 = 144w
OC = 80w
X1900xt = +20w (144 inc 10w for idle GPU)
=244w
=3.75p/h
=£327.60 if on 24/7 per year at 15p/Kw

Gaming
E6400 = 144w
OC = 80w
Monitor = 90w
X1900xt = 120w
HHD/DVD/Sound = 50w
Speaker = extra
=484+
=7.5p/h
= don't ask as it will never happen

Exactly. It's a matter of trust - the headmaster allowed me to borg the PCs on the basis that it wouldn't affect the users and they keep employing me there because I don't abuse that trust.

Possibly apart from four that are on another site that I can't monitor (VPN to the router doesn't work) they're all off for the next nine days so JJJ may keep his cell a bit longer.

well if you include tv standby and everything else.. you could make it up if your careful..

anyway i found out my first rate is 16.9p for the first 227kWh and then 10.5p for each kWh after that

Yep

Got 2 machines at the moment. The opty is crunching smp wu's, I've had a long run of 1760 pointers but got a rubbish ~500 pointer this morn'. Also got an 805d which is rubbish at about 300 ppd
