Very quick question need response...

Desktop Drives: The drive can be mounted in a standard 3.5"device bay. The drive can be mounted sideways, on end, or even upside down as long as the mounting screws are used properly. Use either the four bottom screws or four of the side mounting screws to support the drive. This will prevent vibration and provide additional electrical grounding.

I suspect it means don't leave it standing about on edge (and not about how you mount it securely) - might fall and damage something. Stacking might affect the circuit board under the drive.

doesnt help ...
(the quick start guide doesnt really agree with that link if it says" stand on WD drive on its edge" then link says "The drive can be mounted sideways, on end, or even upside down as long as the mounting screws are used properly. "

All i want to know is can i install the hard drive the way my current dead samsung was installed, i know how to do the rest just looking to know if i can install it this way..

yes or no..

You've just repeated what I quoted which says you can mount if secured properly, in any orientation you want.

Looks crystal clear in the wording.

It's a bad idea to run a hard drive on its side if it's not secure e.g. balancing on an edge because if its knocked over and it has a severe enough shock you can brick it.

Yes you can mount it on its side is the answer.

As long as you secure it properly in the HDD cage.

If you're more comfortable with it being horizontal, and you can rotate the cage, then that's fine as well.
