Very strange severe lagging PC issue after a complete new build. Tried everything can't work this one out so asking for help desperately pls

I've never heard of that, i'll check
I built an Intel system the other day for a friend (i5 13600k) on a MSI motherboard and I made sure to disable that in the BIOS, it's under the boot options in advanced - but it shouldn't have an impact after the initial boot. All it does is ask you, on boot, what software you want to install (MSI centre, drivers etc.)

Could you take things back to basics? Have you got other storage devices (SSD?) to hand that you could use? Remove both M.2s and just try it with an SSD to see what happens. Although saying that, it doesn't sound like it's an issue with the actual storage devices, they wouldn't create multiple instances of an application - surely that has to be CPU related?

This is another fresh install of Windows

I've never heard of that, i'll check

Chrome yes, Discord only 5 or 6 not 47+....also look at the other screenshots, look at how many Steam.exe is running. I'm on my other PC here, using Steam, Discord etc I have 5 instances of Discord, 1 instance of Steam. Also look at how many Lian Li L-Connect 3.exe is running (16) On my other PC 1 instance. Something is very off here.
Yep, its almost like processes aren't stopping and just get re-started all the time.

Are these all on Primary drive ?

Could try with just 1 nvme

Discord and Chrome will have multiple instances - thats normal.

Heres mine at present

EDIT - You know that already :D

That Discord usage looks extreme
im in agreement that things can run 5 or 6 instances..im looking at the same thing on the rig in my sig, 6 for discord, a dozen or so for Chomre...thats normal...But 47 instances of Discord is a little different than 6. How many instances of Steam you running lol. I bet its not 10 like im seeing on the suspected faulty PC. Something is going on here 100%

Boot up a Linux live CD? That would discount drivers and also any software clashes.

Not sure how that would play with your AIO though.

I had a quick look and didn't see anyone recommending LatencyMon. It should give you a pointer to what causes the lagging you are experiencing. A hardware driver or some software you are running.

ok guys. Big update

New CPU working flawlessly, everything behaving as should. What an absolute bake that was. Must have made a 100 point check up on this PC lol.

I just wanna thank you all for the help and advice. We got through it. Who'd have a thought a dodgy CPU. In the 25 years or so I've been building gaming rigs, never once had a DOA CPU.

Thanks again
