Vettel - car breaker?

Have to agree, if vettel has the reliability this year, its as good as his i'd say.

Fingers are crossed for him!

Well I don't know about that Embed. A lot of Red Bulls speed seems to come from this (possibly non existant) ride height adjusting device. The longer the season goes on, the greater the chance that other teams start to match or beat their performance. If they haven't put a lead on the board by then it may well be too late.

From what has been said and the race speeds of the redbulls they seem to have a very good aero package, so maybe the ride height thing isn't a big deal (if it does exist) but maybe giving them the edge in qualifying. I'm sure some of the other teams will have their share of bad luck at some point in the season, as Ferrari have kind of already had by having to use up an engine for both drivers before the start of Bahrain, it didn't lose them points but could have an impact later in the season especially if they have another failure.

Basically there have been two failures for Seb this year:

1: Exhaust system failure.

They introduced a new exhaust system this year on the redbull. I seem to recall Brundle saying something about how it was unique in it's design as it saved space by curling back around itself (the manifold) in an effort to free up space at the back of the car for there (very good) double diffuser. They had run tests with it, but for some reason at Bahrain it overheated and failed. I think it was unlucky since Webber had no issues. I think since these exhausts are so finely tuned and it was only a (slight) partial failure (maybe a hole), that the performance dropped radically but had enough power to still finish the race.

2: Brake disc failure

Can happen to anyone. Just unlucky really I guess. Maybe he is harsher on the brakes than Webber but I doubt it. Just a one off and unfortuantely two "freak" failures in a row.
