This year’s BAFTA Video Game Awards ceremony has ended, with some of the usual suspects coming out on top.
During the show there wasn’t a real frontrunner, though the games tallying up the most categories won were Portal 2 and Battlefield 3 with a total of three, amongst which Portal 2 managed snagged Best Game, Story and Design, where as Battlefield got a hold of Audio
Achievement, Online-Multiplayer, the GAME Award 2011. Other titles honoured included Little Big Planet 2 which received awards for Family Game of the Year and Game Innovation.
Surprisingly enough, Batman: Arkham City only managed to win in two out of the 9 categories it was nominated for, even though it seemed to be this year’s major contender.
Famous Minecraft creator, Markus ‘Notch’ Persson, was awarded with this years BAFTA Special award. In his speech he emphasised on the fact that the game industry is shifting its focus to make room for innovation and smaller companies such as Mojang, instead of a series of big name developers.
