Its great how people call parlour crap, shows how little they know about him. Whenever arsenal have called on his services he rarely lets us down. He aint no vieira but he is a good player.

He is the type of the of player who can do the ugly things well, all the tackling, tracking back, throwing your body in the way etc. Also has one hell of a long range shot, one of the best at arsenal imo

Whenever you say something about how a player can do the ugly things well (eg working hard, throwing your body in the way) and nothing else, they are a bad footballer.

As for his long range shot you mentioned, I disregarded that as it is complete rubbish :p I've seen him shoot from long range and thankfully I don't see him do it for England :)
 
He can do the good things too, Jazz was just saying he has a lot to his game even when things aren't going Arsenal's way. I'm a big fan of Parlour and am hardly ever feel let down by him on pitch which is more than i can say for the majority of players.

u should have seen his shooting against leeds, a top class keeper in robinson was beaten 2 or 3 times iirc. He has scored many super goals from long range for us

Vieira and keane also do the ugly things well, they just have more to their game. He isnt as good as them but no other players in the world are IMO.

Not a single person here can ever convince me parlour is crap, say what u want about him but he is exactly the player england have needed, some who can dig deep to get the result for the team.

Everyone calls him crap coz he isnt the most gifted player around, if we was given another chance for england im sure he would perform, but when was the last time england put out a team which was well thought out?

yep and that's the reason he's crap ;)
england don't need him, they already have enough good central midfielders, and why would they play him anyway if he doesn't play regularly and doesn't have much of a future.
Is shooting is crap, he shoots like mcmanaman or smicer of liverpool (lol).

Im glad arsenal have held onto him and id be even happier if we didnt have to give him up to get kewell.

Englands main problem is the players know they have a guaranteed placed and dont need to really go for it. When was the last time scholes had a good game for england? A goal scoring midfielder not scoring in 2yrs is pretty poor. But he knows he doesnt have to go all out coz he knows his place is guaranteed, unlike at man utd heh. And isnt it ironic he plays good for them?

Others should be given a chance.
 
yep scholes is playing crap for england, but lampard has been given a chance recently and he's done pretty well.
I think joe cole is a pretty bad player and shouldn't be in the england squad, yes he has some nice tricks, but he's not fast and he can't shoot to save his life which really is a priority when being an attacking midfielder.

These players are as important to a side as the flair players.

You don't play football much do you?

Oh, and I'd have Parlour in my England starting 11 but only if he was getting regular football.

I'm not going to go into this argument, but are you saying that Marsden is not crap?
 
I agree with memphisto and gilly.

the players who do the ugly things are more important imo to the team than the flair players. Look at the following examples

Keane for man utd
Vieira for arsenal
makelele for real madrid

Those players are imo the most important players for their team, if keane didnt play for man utd they wouldnt be as good, the same goes for vieira and makelele.

U watch the Juve vs Real madrid 2nd leg? madrid had pretty much every flair player around but they got totally outclassed. The reason was coz they had no good defensive midfielder on the pitch, juve totally owned the midfield, i reckon real madrid would have gone through if Makelele was playing

//.....JK by the way. He is a slightly above average premiership player who gives his all for Southampton and has had a very good season.

Honestlty, with some of the brainless waffling that has started in this forum, you would think that all of you were elite sportsmen, but by your own admission half of you are fat couch potatoes who never kick or hit a ball, so i think its about time the constant degridation of every single footballer who isnt rated at £30,000,000 stopped now.
Its becoming embarrasing to be seen in some of these threads with the garbage that is being spouted these days, or there will be no need to start banning people i suspect half of us will just walk.

Marsden isnt crap, he is an important player for southampton and one of reasons they did so well last season IMO
 
manyoo would have to pay double that for him. Thats a very realistic offer from anyone else though.

If I were an Arsenal fan and Real came in with that offer, I'd be VERY worried.

Whats worse is that if vieira doesnt sign, man utd offer 22mill, real know arsenal will never sell him to man utd so real could go in and offer 15mill and get him :(

But we are still confident he will sign, he keeps saying he wants to stay, hopefully he will sign soon
