My work has a content filter running, which blocks websites like ebay, occasionally it gets upset when loading hotmail and all the other obvious websites are blocked.

Is there any way I can still look at these websites by accessing them a different way or anything...?
I have my own websites so have access to some webspace - anything I can put on my website to act as a 'go through' to other websites?

Not being able to access ebay and hotmail sometimes is annoying.

thanks

Yup, but I doubt your work wants there computers used for checking email and bidding on ebay.

One prob with my site is you can't login to hotmail, or other secured sites. i have to install some SSL script stuff but i have no clue with it what so ever

proxy sites are also likely to be blocked. best off sending a ping to a few websites and keeping the IP addresses in a notebook or something

In all likelihood trying any of these methods will likely get you sacked. Check your contract and any policies your company has with regards to internet use.

Remote Desktop to your home pc tbh

My old work didn't mind this... bypassing the content filters, they did. In fact, it got someone disciplined and immediately discharged.

There is a reason filters are in place, and they're not as simple as avoiding the legal implications of pornography and warez etc... If you're a business, why pay for your workers to access sites unrelated to their work? e.g. ebay and personal e-mail accounts.

Ergo, VPN for the win.
