Viking: Battle for Asgard

On hard: Finished the last battle, fought my way up the tower and got to the boss and died in the fire smashing the staffs.

Tried again, died.
Tried again, died again.

Thought I'd try again later so I quit and saved.

When it came back up it I was before the big battle and hadn't saved before the boss so in disgust I put in straight in the lovefilm envelope and posted it back.

The last boss fight is ridiculously hard (the shaman staff bit before the boss), with no way to save it (takes a good hour to get there) and no way to drop it down to normal or easy. What baffles me is someone honestly thought this was a good way to end the game. Generally enjoyed the game but this ruined it.

It's quite easy, LT + A and push them into the fire, don't bother fighting, keep going round the sides till all staffs are down, then the boss fight begins.

Blaming the game for lack of skill is not cool. You should have known how the save system works, it even tells you "Uncompleted quests will not be saved"

1) The fact that I did the rest of the game without too much trouble and got to the boss but couldn't beat her and the numerous threads on xbox.com etc. all agreeing makes me think they didn't get the balance quite right.


2) After playing for an hour to get to the last boss with multiple cut scenes and there was a small break after the battle so I assumed that it would have saved at some point. If you quit to the menu it actually does tell you it's "saved" as well so I thought I was safe. Some of us have families and can't just leave the game at a particular point for indefinate periods of time while we try to beat something. Making me do an hour of activity to get to the point it becomes hard every time is bad design.

3) Lol, it's my opinion and ruined the game for me. I also thing Lou in GHIII on hard is too hard as do a lot of other people; are we also 'not cool' if we say so because we "lack skill"? I'm still not sure why you had to take such an antaganistic attitude.

Yes to be honest, don't mean to sound rude but just because you can't complete something it doesn't mean its badly designed. No idea about Viking but for GH3 its meant to be the final challenge, not everyone should be good enough to do it.
 
Seriously how the **** do you finish the holdenfort baracks. After many hours of stealth trying to find where to plant the explosives I've given up. One try too me an hour and fighting champions.

Then I happened to stumble across a guard who blew his horn and the whole camp decended upon me. An hour lost as you have to start all over again.

Such a shame because other than that this is a top game.
 
Once you reach the top where that portal thing is.. there is a small barracks next to it. If you sneak round the back there is a little hole in the roof of it you can climb up on.. stand next to the hole and the bomb gets placed.. bish bang bosh it blows up..


I found it by luck tbh as i wasnt really sure where i was going either, although a friend at work also spent hours looking for it :)
 
Right I'm up there now mate, looking at the barracks. It was getting across the bridges that was killing me. I just looked at several guides and couldnt find an easy when they found one myself. You can actually get to the barracks inside of 5 minutes. Every route on the guides take an hour.
 
This game takes the wee. Stealth getting into Caldberg has taken me 1 hour and 40 minutes on one life without dieing. I'm determined to finish it but even weatching a youtube walkthrough of how you get in is a near on 30 minutes worth of clip.

I wouldn't mind if you could bloody save!
