Virgin Atlantic Vs Delta Airlines?

Delta have only brought me hassle during flights, and I speak as a person who has never had any problems with any other airline (other than delays) as far back as I can remember.

Delta have had broken tellies, broken seat recliners, and broken tray tables on (I'm not kidding) every flight I've taken with them. Their idea of compensation is £50 off your next flight with Delta provided you fly with them in the next 3 months :D

Anyone but United if flying economy. Horrific Cattle Class experience.

Virgin Premium Economy is worth the extra money on long haul flights in my opinion. Larger seat which reclines more and extra space. Holidays/trips are a lot more enjoyable if you’re not dreading the flight home after a grim 10-12 hour flight out.

VA is prob best for PE, used to be great upstairs on 747

I do like the PE, not sure i can justify the cost again though. the best bang for buck on the 747 was in the bubble and the front row of economy. costs around £70 and you get about 2 meters of leg room

747 all gone now :(

the bubble did lose a bit of something with the re config a few years back

I'm actually an idiot. I was thinking of the Airbus A380 (bit embarrassing seeing as I worked at Airbus for a few months!) Don't think i've been on a new Boeing in quite some time. Apart from the domestic flights within the US

Spoke with Virgin earlier this evening.

Got through to a pleasant chap after about 1 minute hold time who was working from home.

They switched the flights to Virgin ones.. no problem at all, very efficient. I lose 2 hours of the trip as the planes are 1hr later leaving and 1hr earlier coming back but not the end of the world.

Was just not feeling it with Delta, even in economy, there seems to just a little bit more space with Virgin but all helps on an 8 hour flight.

As a bonus, I get to go on a Dreamliner on the way back :D

Virgin are my go-to, evidenced by my 130,000 airmiles to use up ><

Economy is definitely economy, but premium is fine and Upper is passable. Upper is more akin to business on others really. I think premium is the sweet spot for cost/experience.

Staff are always dead friendly though, compared to BA anyway.

Delta's fleet is much larger and has newer IFE. Their screens are basically mounted tablets which are more crisp than VAs scratched up old monitors.

Tough call.

After using VA more than 15 times to florida I have no complaints loved them tried PE but on the 747 you have so much space in economy we only did it once.

Sadly with them replacing the 747 and knowing that the airbus has less space in economy I guess our next trip will be either on a dream liner route or a different airline.

yeah exactly my thoughts. The PE was good, just not for what it costs me for 3 or 4 people. Economy is good enough. im only 5ft 9" so the 9hours to florida is spot on.
