Virgin Media Installation

I've had four installs done with Virgin/Blueyonder since I first got a cable modem in the late 90s and all of them have been neat and tidy (although the last one didn't vacuum after himself). The installers themselves have been courteous and flexible, asking me how I wanted it done and where I wanted the holes (that sentence sounds so lewd).

At my last place, they ran a second cable basically through the entire house, under carpets on the stairs, up and around three doorways, into a cupboard and through a wall before they put a plug in for the second box because it was impossible to go around or over the top of the building. It was very impressive.
 
got the installation done with no problems, because we're going to be moving the living room down into the cellar at some point he just loosely left the cables (with excess cable so I can move the sockets below the floors when needed) tucked away in a built in cupboard in the corner

was very helpful. glad it went better than some others experiences
 
thats the thing about these companys they do such a shabby job of the wires and what gets me is most people dont seem to worry:confused:.

we have virgin media and our cables run down the side outside but its all been put underground in a protective type conduit out of site.

I dont think VM done this, i think it was my dad and virgin media just fed the cable threw e.g...
 
I'v only had good experiences with VM, except on the phone when I'm continuously rick-rolled for 40min at a time! The varying quality of installs could be because they apparently outsource allot of installations to 3rd party contractors.
 
When we had our Virgin installation done in 2007, the guys that came to do it were pretty good, although one of them was a bit miserable. Mind you, he was the one left to dig the trench for the protective pipe whilst the other drilled the holes etc.

The only 'complaint' I have is that, although he did leave me extra cable, is that it was the stingiest (is that word?) 'extra' I've seen!
 
You've just gotta tell em how you want it, they've done a good job for us under their many guises for 7 odd years now, it comes up through the garage into the living room and the broadband comes up through my parents en suite and into my cupboard, now they've split that cable and it feeds a second v+ box, it's all very tidy and lots of slack left incase I move about. Luck of the draw a bit I guess but left to their own devices most will probably cut corners.
