virgin to cut 50mb prices

Speak to retensions and tell them you arent happy as others seem to be getting a better deal and that you are thinking about leaving and tell them what you want and see what they can do for you.

Dont forget to mention you are a long standing customer.

I'm on the full package and was told it would cost me £15.00 a month extra for the netbook. £360 over two years. o thank you . I might give it a try tomorrow again but you can buy a better spec one for that amount.

just spoke to the retentions people, dont know if its just the guy I got thru to or across the board but the offers theyre doing for existing customers really is pants :(

Was advised the Cheapest I could have y package for was £50.20 XL BB, XLTV, V+, L Phone. When I mentioned Sky they then said they could match Skys max pack at £47.50

Told that there was no way whatsoever to add 50Mb, mobile data or the netbook to my account wihtout loosing my discounts and ahving to apply new customer deals. Advised them to leave my account as is and Im off to speak to sky.

What packages are people on at the moment and costs? Looking for some examples Ic an use to barter with them :p

I get 20MB for £20 so £8 more and i can have 50mb ....will have to wait a bit and see what they have been giving to people when it goes down in price

We are on the VIP package (V+ box, 2nd cable box, top phone package, 20mb internet) been with them (Virgin and previously blueyonder) for well over 8 years. The person on the phone confirmed our last bill was £95 which it usually is every month. I asked to upgrade to 50mb they said it would be £30 install fee and £20 activation. I told them because I'm paying so much per month I want it free but they wouldn't budge. I told them I was going to cancel etc but they werent interested.

Cancellation dept is closed but I'm going to call tomorrow. If I was a new customer I'd get it for free, but because I'm paying £100 odd quid a month that entitles me to nothing.

Pathetic.

Apart from all the services you receive ;)

I had called up virgin and they told me that my price will drop from £43 (including a £7 a month discount loyalty) to £29 (including £7 a month discount loyalty) from 1st september as the price drop from standard price of £50 to £36 for 50Mb broadband only. Nice one virgin. :)

Can you post who you speak to on here; as every time I contact anyone at virgin they do not know about any new price drops and I have to explain it all to each of them. Their computers do not get updated until last minute. I have xl everything with one v+ box and they cannot tell me what I will pay if I upgrade to 50mb.

I just received my latest online bill from Virgin Media:

Bill Date: Aug 10, 2009
Payment Due Date: Sep 1, 2009
Amount Due: £35.96

and yes that's for the 50Meg connection. I dont have TV or phone with Virgin. I feel much better now :D

What the hell? When I phoned up to upgrade the guy said it was £50 per month, thats it no cheaper - have I just been stitched up?

Ok so as im on the VIP package how much extra would it cost me to get the 50mb ? As i have everyting i cant take it with a phone line for £28 so i guess the taken as a "stand alone service" applies for £38. As i currently pay £37 for my 20mb as part of the package does that mean it will only cost me an extra £1 per month ???????

I am now having 50Mb installed next week :D

But can some one who has already got it tell me if they got these free

Free modem
Free wireless router
Wireless "N" Adapter

thanks

Thanks mate ;)

Yo get the modem (you need it) but you can decline the router and/or adaptor if you so wish. I opted to not have the adaptor as I simply dont need it.

Also, I just looked at my bill. XXL Broadband - £45, then I get a Phone and Broadband Discount of £17.
That makes sense, bringing the XXL to £35 and £7 over... I've heard people mention the £7 loyalty thing.... what is that?
I guess I'm getting it.
