virgin to cut 50mb prices

Does Virgin Media phone line come off the cable line they put into your house or is this from a BT line?

Looking at getting Cable in my flat im about to move into, but the place has never had cable installed before so be interested to know a bit more about the installation process from someone with a bit of knowledge! (V+ HD/50 Meg line/Phone line). Will the monkey that comes to install it butcher my walls when they drill through them also?

will they lower the price for existing XXL customers who are still on a contract? my contract ends on he 25th so not sure if I should get it now or wait till Sep.

"From 1st September Virgin Media will reduce the monthly cost of its 50Mb service for new and existing customers to £28, when taken with a phone line, or £38 if taken as a sole product."

Would like to know the price of 20mb after they reduce the 50mb tier.

Cheers, so existing customers should be saving £7 a month with a line and £13 without.

If its differential backup, then it can't be that much uploading each day? </pedantic>

:D

my mp3 library is what I'd like to backup

I'd do a full backup to the remote site manually first, then do a robocopy weekly to upload the odd album or so to the site

when my upload is around 80kb/s, this becomes a tedious task.

By the time this becomes valid in september you will very lucky to hit the 'peak' speed, it will be throttled to death!

Absolute rubbish. Even if they do introduce STM, it'll only be when you hit a certain threshold between certain hours, outside of those times there's no reason it won't hit the full 50mb on Usenet and the like.

If you are in a cabled area, the just drill a hole in the wall and route the cable through it, like sky.

I upload a lot of youtube videos and seem to get picked as host a lot on XBox live so the extra upload would be fantastic.
