When you activate a hardware hash of you machine is sent to microsoft. If you have vista with the same product key on two machines then microsoft can and probably will revoke your product key which will also render your windows vista products useless.
That would be £240 down the drain because you breached the licence. This is not XP, microsoft have learned from their mistakes and will be a hell of a lot more tough when it comes to piracy.

Think again, you read the legal agreement, you agree to it. You break it, you no longer have the licence to use windows vista.
