I am corresponding with a person who wants to sell a windows vista home basic DVD. Not from this forum.
I have explained that I need a retail version not an OEM or upgrade version.
The seller is not to sure which version it is and has look on the box and DVD but found no reference to an OEM version.

So my question is how can you tell what version a vista DVD is?
Is it on the box or on the DVD?

Thx…rob

Think it should say on the disc...

Licensed only for distribution with a new PC
But I'd be wary of that copy the seller is offering if he doesn't even now the version! Besides should come with a 'Certificate of Authenticity' sticker which states whether OEM or Retail :)

That looks exactly like my Home Premium OEM came from OCUk so id say its OEM. Like the other guy said, the retail case is completely different.

Yes, I bought that retail pack from OcUK recently. For £58 quid it's a bargain, considering everywhere else seems to want around £150.
