VM Image - No Network

Hi guys,

I have just p2v'd Server 2003 and put it on my development machine.

Now when i try to log into the machine using domain credentials it is saying that the domain is not available etc.

It also gives me a error box about a driver issue which could be the network adapter.

I have tried using a local account but no luck.

Have you installed VMtools? i'm assuming its VMware

Also ive heard selecting the wrong OS type in the VM settings can cause problems with incorrect network drivers

Yes it is VMware.

I have clicked to install vmtools but it doesn't seem to install.

Is there any way i can change the drivers?

Try rolling back the network drivers if you have that option. I have seen a similar issue in VMWare once the tools install themselves. Can you post a S/S of the error message you are getting?

Are you able to ping the DC?

What are the results of your ipconfig /all?

Have they got a cd-drive installed? as VMware mounts a cd to the virtual machine to install the tools. Once you tell it to install it should auto run on the virtual machine, if not, try running the setup off the cd manually.
Also in the virtual machine you will need to remove all the old devices (ie the old physical network card) that are no longer present from device manager (if i remember rightly some will be hidden as well)
