Exactly that… They broke the licensed version of Workstation Pro for Windows we used to get through our vSphere data centre licence… needed to remove and reinstall a later version with the new Broadcom links built in. Right pain in the backside when they’ve had a recent CVE or two! No real warning of them doing it either, which didn’t help.I suspect it's related to Broadcom killing the old software repo (softwareupdate.vmware.com). The only workaround is to disable automatic update checking and wait for a new version which will point at the new repo.
I think I'm just going to switch to qemu for most things. I had the same trouble trying to download things and don't want to have that hassle in the future.Does anyone know how you're now suppose to download the latest version of Fusion? Or have a direct link to the DMG?
Tried to login with my VMWare credentials but the Broadcom site refused and it didn't want to do the account transition through the support site.
Went through the rigmarole of creating a new account, whoever blocked password copy/paste on the UI needs to be shot, but now it requires "verification" to download Fusion but it won't accept address details and throws some error about verification. Attempting to 'build my profile', hoping there's something there for "verification" throws another error that it isn't a corporate email address.
What a complete and utter shambles this is![]()
