The same happened with VLC, it wont show the GUI or the Video but i can hear sound playing.

i've dont a system repair and re-installed the software, done a virus scan. still i have no idea... anyone have any suggestions?
preferably something that wont require re-formatting D:

Have you tried a scandisk? It's amazing how many problems it fixes as it looks through system files as well!
i got this...

read only wtf?

Have you tried VirtualBox? It should be able to open VMWare images.

I'll give it a try now, does it have the same functionality?

If you want to start a scandisk, the easy way to start it off is in Windows itself - go to Explorer, right click on the drive, then click on Properties. Once there, click on the Tools tab and there should be something about checking for errors. If should pop up with a small box where you should tick both boxes - then start it off. Sometimes it will say (depending on the drive you are testing) that it can't do it now and will have to schedule it next time you start your computer. If that's the case, then say ok to it and then just restart the machine. It will come up before it loads in Windows so that files aren't in use, and should then start going through any problems.

Might not fix the problem, but not a bad thing to do every so often anyway just in case of any other problems.

Try chkdsk /r c: instead (/r = repair)

I'll give it a try now, does it have the same functionality?

I've not really used VMware much but Virtual Box works perfectly well. I think VMware is meant to have more networking options, but if you don't need all those then I imagine either will be good. It depends on what you're trying to do really, I mainly use it as a sandboxed OS rather than for anything too technical :).
