MUMBLE IS THE OUTRIGHT WINNER FROM OUR CLAN'S POINT OF VIEW

GIVE IT A TRY AND LET US KNOW.

As the title says, after being at i-40 with the guys we've decided to move from vent to mumble... i must say i am VERY impressed, the whole server has been set up and is working perfectly.

Come and join us, be great to see guys on there. Hold your mouse over admin and watch the picture appear... I'm also going to asign pic's to each room. It really is an amazing voice comm. Other amazing feature is you can have overlay on in game which will also show an avatar next to your name... To put it frank it simply p***es all over vent in everyway possible.

Any1 who is thinking of coming to I-series next April and doesn't have a clan to go with, this would be a great way to start.... as we're planning on going to i-42.

We have plenty of admin on so any idiots who spam will be banned:

Simply download the link below:

And log on to our server @

We have a 32 man ventrillo server with proper codex settings. Our BC2 guys havn't been coming on due to a few of them having weird lag bug with vent. So i'm looking to get a cheap TS3 server up to see if its worth us moving the clan voice coms over. This will be for public use like our current ventrillo server which all OCUK can use. So however the voting goes on this thread I’m going to run with that choice.

I’ve tried mumble and must say it feels very very cheap, I’ve always been a lover of TS so I’m hoping TS3 is the better coms.

Whats your thoughts?

I use Skype all the time, but for gaming I need push to talk.

Mumble is so, so much better than Vent, it's not even close. I'm one of the guys that get horrific lag, I don't use it any more because I just can't deal with hearing nothing for five minutes, then the program catches up and plays everbodies messages for the past five mins at once.

Even if it wasn't for this, Mumble audio quality is far better and has positional audio which is pretty funky.

Never tried TS.

poll is full of fail. No Teamspeak 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mumble is very good, has excellent codecs and very very small lag. TS3 lags for me a bit, i.e. comms isnt isnt and has a delay, same happened with vent.

Added.

Vent personally. But the audio quality that Skype can offer is superb. Not sure how great it would be with 20-30 people mind.

I have been told that mumble is what TS 3 should be.

The reason it feels cheap is its free. The one time I used it I liked it it was simple.

Try it what harm will it do. :)

Vent - End of.

Skype audio quality is sub-par and has a constant hiss.
TS is just annoying to use and uses too much bandwidth for a clear codec.
Tried mumble, not impressed.

Vent is easy to setup (Both client and server) easy to use and has no bloat even though it's feature set is pretty large!

Depends what I'm playing, I use everything.

Skype with close friends, not having to press a button to talk. ( I don't like voice activation, never get it right, either it's always on or not)
TS3 pretty much forced to use it for ARMA2 and I like it, clarity, channels/channel commander, keybinds im familiar with, overlay)
Vent which a lot of WoW guilds seems to use, and it's when I use it.
Mumble....not used it much except once for wow again.
