It's my mission to make at least 1/4 of the Motors forum Volvo perverts by this time next year...

*n

fox did it with mondeo's :D

Perhaps Telsa is key, you turn him and the rest of the "mondeo massive" will fall to you?

Nice, a friend brought a non runner one (same sort of turbo/auto) off ebay for about £200. It's now running, and he's raving about all the little touches on the car, like the carbon bonnet and the computer!

Can't wait to see what it goes like either this or next weekend. Old Volvos are desirable!

everyone bashes the 480, and it's mostly those who have never owned one but have read some bad reviews.

I have a 480turbo on a K plate. I love this car! It's got 130kmiles on the clock and the engine is still a peach. It costs only petrol to run it, no major breakdown.

Gearbox is a bit wishy-washy now but it handles like a go-kart.

gotta lov dees cars!

poor volvo! :( would be fun to have those tonka toys to play with though!

That sort of thing always makes me want to cry. I don't care how rubbish the car was. When it was new, it was someone's pride and joy.

:snif: :(

Then he met Will, heard his Capri V8 and decided he had to have one in the Volvo

That wouldn't happen to be Will Holman's Mk1 Capri would it? Haven't seen it in ages, would have been Bromley Pageant in 2003. Wonderful car :)

I had a 460 Turbo for a little while when my old man bought a new car (going back a fair few years now though!!), it was a top motor, cost me a couple of hundred quid to insure (19 with no NCB at the time) and was pretty nippy too.

Nice purchase. :)

Got a look at my mates tonight. He is enjoying his 480 turbo as well!

The boost got wound up to 13psi but he said it hasn't felt any faster since going past 9psi (odd?) ..oh and the fuel gauge moved to fast for him at 13psi.

The other main thing he has done is put an induction kit on, and although you still can't hear the engine much the wastegate noise is really amplified... it sounds so good when it changes gear (still an auto though)

The standard actuator wont hold boost properly on all 480s, some struggle much after 8. They look like they are boosting higher for short period of time, then the psi just drop off back to 8-9. Might explain his problem.

Apparently its pretty easy to drop in a better actuator. I have a new boost gauge coming, then im going for an MBC to see what i can get out of mine :D
