VOUCHER CODE DEALS CONCEPT PLAN!

IMO the voucher code deals should continue to be posted in MM. Put them on the public forum and they'll be on every scalper discord and twitter within minutes.

I agree. It'll not take long - even yesterday's code was close to being spoiled by a member or two on a popular discord (wording like "it's super easy to guess" being used)

WARNING TO ALL MEMBERS!

So @ScottiB discovered a forum member selling a Zotac 3060 he got at £359.99 on Ebay for over £500 on a bidding auction.

Between myself and the Dons we tracked down his forum account.

The actions we have taken:
- Cancelled his order so he won’t be getting the card!
- Banned his forum account for one month!
- Removed his MM access permamently!

We’re trying to help you guys out by offering you cards at extremely cheap prices compared to the rest of the market because you all keep telling us how you can’t get cards and want to upgrade to play games. We want to try and help you out to game and not have to pay over the odds to do so and we have found a system which seems to work.

So these deals are for gamers to game on, not to scalp or mine.

Let this be a warning, the cards are clearly for gamers so only buy if you’re intent is to game. Otherwise don’t buy and give others the opportunity as you scalpers I’m sure your not declaring your profits as income to the tax man.

So be warned if we catch you then you can expect the above!

Nice always one ahole screwing it up for everyone else. (even though I don't have access kappa)

This^

Having the codes posted in the MM may not be ideal but it is far better than any of the other options.

It is better to have an awkward scheme that works than nothing at all.

As Gibbo mentioned it would be 'great' if people that already owned a better card didn't buy these or those that weren't planning on gaming (mining).

The system that Gibbo has setup is a Great thing, hate to see it get ruined. And thanks again.

How hard would be to release codes in batches? and only for people that reply on the MM, so they get the code via PM.
Let say you release the code for 20 cards, people post in the MM, you send the code via PM... sell 20 cards, change the code.. rinse and repeat.
So if a code gets leaked, you will know that was one of the 20 people

For that to work the code would have to change each batch, otherwise someone in the earlier batches could release the code (assuming the code doesnt change each batch for the same card) when the subsequent batches of codes were released, making it look like someone in a later batch leaked the code.

edit - just saw you said change the code each batch.

Think the chaps really need that new back end system - but ,as said above , with no actual stock to sell, profit (and income) will be down, whereas outgoings remain the same.

6700XT is a cracking little card man, with a good price you'll be getting 2080Ti-level performance! And more vRam to boot ;)

Reviews look very impressive. Not far at all behind the 6800. The best thing about this is, if we manage to get a card, selling your old card should just about cover the cost of upgrading in this market place.

I'm not sure how it'll affect my experience in the Blackwell pixel graphics game I'm currently playing. The main game that lags for my Vega @1440 ultrawide are the Assassins Creed Odyssey/Origins titles and I've put off getting Cyberpunk because of my GPU too

Probs for doing this don't see any other retailer doing this, also feel if it was posted more public it will ruin it for everyone

It should play cyberpunk decently. I had a 5700xt I sold in prep for a newer card but I sold too early and have still been trying to get one. It played cp2077 Ok... At 1440p but a 6700xt should do decently better. (oh and this was previously on a 2700k Intel cpu ie 10 years old~), now I'll be rocking a 3900xt

I say put small amounts up on the MM daily (that way if the code leaks it doesn’t eat up hundreds of cards) and then if there’s any stock left after 24-36h put it up on the main forums to clear what’s left.

If you put it in the main forum it’s just going to get swamped immediately by bots.

Also this whole exercise presents a dilemma - do I buy a 6700XT or wait for my “first choice” card on the chance it gets offered? I mean ideally i’d love a 3060Ti Aero ITX but i’ve not seen it for sale anywhere so...

We have the stock but its spread thin across many SKU's and if we put it online if sells in seconds which we do from time to time because we can't sit on stock forever. We tried cards in 3D printer section, that did work for a while but cat out the bag and the bots seem to improve to be able to spot any card anywhere on the site, even a new setup card within an instant.

So now were using very labour intensive voucher codes, there is a reason we rarely do voucher codes on the store in general because they are hard work, but it seems doing them via the MM does work and future codes won't be so easy to guess. :)

Inwill make the thread and post so just set an alert up that follows me and I promise to not post in motors all morning. ;)

Anyone know how set up the alert, I can't find that option anywhere? I am following Gibbo and everything is ticked in 'alert preferences', not sure where else to look.

I'm glad to read that @Gibbo, the bots will know that a card is on a code because of the price. Not being able to guess or crack that code in any sort of worthwhile time is the best protection for MM members to be able to buy a card.
Once the code moves from MM to the public forum though, there won't be any protection because the cat is already out of the bag, so to speak.
