I have a PC in the living room for sofa gaming and massively prefer the higher frame rates and having a more flexible device. Don't get me wrong, I have had a blast with my PS4 but I don't feel inclined towards getting a PS5 and I see no point getting an Xbox when I have 2 PCs already.

Maybe it's time to consider one of the game streaming services but ugh, I can't imagine it being a great experience. I would rather have a PC any day of the week as I have plenty of options controller wise, not just M&KB :)
ahhh sorry missed that, you mean youre after like 144hz+? Would love to know what TV you use man, I got a 120hz native panel and cant get windows to see any more than 60hz, whilst at 4k anyway. Can get 1080p 120hz but as mentioned it looks trash. The sony Ive got is supposed to be able to do it however just cant get the option to show up - tried everything.

TV's with VRR are great for us though now mind - I'm sure you heard by nvidia gpus can work with freesync TVs by Samsung and LG etc?????????

It's more wanting something that can consistently deliver 60FPS+ on higher detail settings. GTAV and Rocket League are totally different games on my living room PC compared to PS4 :)

I'm not a top end gamer - I just want to be able to play things on PC as they should be without getting a second mortgage is all. Anyways I've moaned enough - we will see how it goes - best of luck with whatever you do buddy :)

Thanks, you too. Just pray for me I don't get the credit card out at the first sight of a (probably overpriced) 3080/6800xt in stock!

Well what gpu do you have now? If you're only aiming for like 1440p then I'd say just get something like a 1080ti. 2500k ain't THAT bad for now. 1080ti will even do some older games like gta easy at 1440p with max settings.

The problem is the RTX2* series was soo expensive and scarce for its performance over the 1* series so many of us skipped it sticking to either 9*0 or 1*. Meanwhile Devs continue to release low fps games with poor optimisation. :(
You could argue that ampere has become like Turing with poor price performance when cards like the 3060 are going for £500 which matches the nearly 3 year old RTX 2070 on performance and price, the 3070 going for £800+ with around the same performance as a 2080ti but less VRAM and the 3090 costing twice as much as a 2080ti yet only delivering around 35-40% more performance.

I got PS5 and games on that look miles worse than on my PC. Just got Demon’s Souls from MM on this forum and I’m very disappointed with how blurry the game looks like when performance mode is selected but it’s either that or 30fps gameplay.
On top of that PS5 doesn’t support VRR so when games fall below 60fps it becomes a stutter fest.
Honestly people praise these consoles like they are something special unfortunately they are not.

How much was your PC though compared to a console? I'd guess almost 3x the price and your lucky enough to get the cheap 3080FE, people are paying that much now for just a 3060 retail.

Try spending £369 on a PC including a GPU right now and compare that the gaming experience your getting on a PS5.

It almost sounds like the PS5 has been massively over-hyped - surely shome mishtake? :D

As for blurriness, is it actually running at the native res for your TV or do you have some upscaling going on? Sounds like the latter in performance mode.

Demon’s Souls in performance mode runs in something like 1440p which to me looks more blurry than DLSS in performance mode which is 1080p upscaled to 4K on PC. I do like how checkerboard upscaling looks like on PS4 PRO/PS5 unfortunately that game doesn’t seem to use that for some reason.

980ti here...... just about plays the division 2 on medium with other settings on low .Would love to see it on ultra ! ( after Mondays drop lol fingers crossed )
This is literally my current setup, except I'm playing at 1440p on roughly medium settings. It's playable, but drops below 60fps in certain places such as the open, heavily overgrown areas. It's fine I guess.

Yeah it was probably 3x more than the console but it gives me 10x more possibilities including mining when not used for gaming so it made the graphics card literally free.
can you do that wit a console.?
One thing PS5 has over PC is loading times but that will change when PC games start using new APIs.

No but if you had just brought a ps5 in November then invested the extra 1k saved into ether you'd have made around £3600 now so there is that.

Can’t argue with that but there is risk involved when investing which with mining there is no risk if you exchange your crypto as you go (unless the online exchange place go bust where you keep your £).

IKR The 3060 is absolute garbage for anything over £300 and they're still selling well above £600 I literally cannot figure out why people would spend that. It's barely better than a 2060, and I looked at one of those on ebay a few months ago for £200. However things have gotten worse since then I guess. fleabay prices are insane. £700 for USED 1080tis and stuff? mental.

I've always been a tad disappointed that MM access is down to time and post count! I've never got anything interesting to say! :D I lurk on this forum because there are some dead tech savvy members on here and i just like to read the stuff they post (Especially troubleshooting etc) And try to educate myself a bit!

wow... compared to which pc? I was quite impressed with an xbox one x - 4k image was nice and crisp on practically everything, however, 30fps. id of assumed the new consoles were indeed as advertised capable of and optimised to run at, a constant 60fps. maybe I was wrong.

i think series x is like twice the power of one x, id deffo expect it to be much, much better than even a £1000 pc right now (granted though, £1000 doesn't get you sod all today... maybe with a £400 gtx1080 or a £700 1080ti you could get relatively close).

has anyone else used series x or ps5 and found to be garage? because i'm literally looking at the specs and thinking it's so much more sensible than these insane gpu prices.
