Important to distinguish between people who are using a VPN to change their region, and people using a VPN because their internet access is heavily monitored and there are criminal consequences for accessing certain material. For the majority of people it's the first category, and potential DNS leaks don't matter.
If you care about privacy the most, then Mullvad and Proton are your best options.

Using VPN's to change regions is also becoming more and more annoying and restrictive. A lot of apps like Netflix can now tell when a VPN is being used. Hell, even the youtube F1 channel knows when a VPN is being used and if you try to watch highlights it forces you to turn the VPN off!

VPNs tend to have blocks or ranges of IPs that they detect and block.

Paid. It’s fine. Just was losing some speed and sometimes had to airplane mode my phone. Could just be a setting somewhere.
