Do any of you see a gain from this?

I filled up with Vpower on Sunday and noticed zero difference compared to normal unleaded. My book states that in order to get peak performance and MPG I must use this fuel but it seems to make next to no difference for me.

So the question is has anyone seen a noticeable difference?

I think I'll stick to normal unleaded in future. The fact I can get more unleaded than premium to £20 surely negates the fact I supposedly can get better MPG with the premium?

Meh

It'll be mapped for 95RON fuel won't it? You won't see any gains but it won't do you any harm to stick in a full tank of V-power every so often to take advantage of it's cleaning agents.

Yea just been speaking to Olly about this. Literally the only reason I would use it is every now and then as you said for the cleaning agents and nothing else.

According to BMW. I should see gains but the increase in cost over unleaded negates at least one of these stated gains. As for the power well I've hardly noticed any change and would have to stick it on the rollers to see for sure.

VX handbook recommends SUL too.

I filled up with normal supermarket unleaded @ 111.9p

Then i filled up with V power @ 121.9p :S

So far im only getting 24mpg so the fuel consumptions no better. I dont notice anything drastically better either. Think i'll stick to normal SUL

I used vpower diesel once, never again.

Shell along with these others all say that 1 tank won't show any difference as you still have some of the old el cheapo stuff in the tank.

Unless I've got a Clubcard voucher or 5p per litre off at Tesco, I always bung V-Power Diesel in mine as it most definitely gives better MPG. Don't know about cleaning the engine though as it's a mucky tractor anyway.:D

The handbook states that in order to maintain quoted fuel economy and power figures you should use 98 RON fuel. I have, however, never noticed a difference between 95 and 98 RON fuel.

I use VPower however simply because by pulling into the garage and picking up the red pump, you send a signal to other motorists - you are reminding them your car is better than theirs, and you are thus a better person than them. VPower is more manly. And for this, its worth 7p a litre any day of the week.

Imagine using the normal pump. What would people think? That you had... a Ford?

I doubt anyone gives a flying **** or even notices what anyone else puts in their tanks.

Hahaha. :D

Vpower can be a bit of a false economy, it also makes poorly maintained cars run worse as I've found out in the past.

You need to use 333 Litres to get the £5 voucher from Morrisons afaik. Doable if only place you fill up at is Morrisons I guess. For me it's once in a blue moon.
