*** VR Deals Thread ***

You know what guys I am already getting a little bored of VR.... I don't see the excitement in it like I did a few months back. The index I snagged on g2a is a big step up from the vive's, but even with Viveport / Steam VR and about 800 games free (VP), I am just finding it boring. Am I alone here?

Ironically the more games you have the more likely you are to be bored (it was ever thus). Best thing is to pick a high quality title and devote some time to it. Unfortunately the best titles currently are on the Oculus platform, which will require the use of ReVive software to get the Index to work. (Of course that will change when HL:Alyx comes out, as Steam will get it's own killer app).

No, I am sure other people get bored of VR gaming at times. Just like people get bored of Console gaming and PC gaming at times. Not sure how to explain this properly, but, if you use VR as purely an entertainment system you are going to be bored of it occasionally. Where VR excels is making people's hobbies come more real. Driving Sims, Flight Sims, Space Sims are the best examples of what I am talking about. If you aren't really into Car sims, for example, playing these games in VR will be amazing at first but, you will eventually lose interest. But, if you are a car sim nut, then VR will never get boring as it brings you closer to been in an actual car than ever before.

For other people VR offers fun workout sessions in games like Boxing VR and Thrill of the Fight, for me personally it's Reflex Alley in Knockout League. It's has really helped my defence in basketball.

Another example for me is Table Tennis, I love playing it but can't because there are no clubs near me and I have no space for a table of my own. VR lets me play table tennis every day if I want to. But, if you don't really like Table Tennis, you might find the physics brilliant and have fun for a few minutes but you would be bored after a while. But for me, I am not gaming, I am playing table tennis.

That's the thing with VR, if you only game on it, it becomes just another entertainment system, fun at times boring at others. You need to find your 'Table Tennis' Something you enjoy doing in real life that you can do in VR as well. That way it never gets boring.

This is all just my opinion :)

VR deals are live on the RIFT S @ £349… I managed to snag one this morning from eBay using a 5% code that expires at 11am, making it £331

Me too, mine cost £1.00 more!!, then I got to worrying about my fx8370E, would probably be ok as it will clock quite well, 5.3Ghz stable but I needed an excuse so I treated myself to a Raisin 3800x and gubbins :D

out of stock now

quick Google, finds out that company sell stolen items. keys to games etc

You mean G2A? ignore that it's nonsense. It's a market place just like Ebay and there was a few bad apples just like every other market place online. I have purchased over 1500 games from g2a and a Vive Index, never had a single issue. Only fools pay Steams prices, now that is fact. Just about 2000 games on Steam, zero bought from Steam. Or if you meant the seller of the Index, the guy I bought off was cheap and the sale was flawless matey, not a single issue and delivery was quick. G2A, Kinguin, Cdkeys, Humble Bundle and Fanactical are the places I tend to use, however like I say a huge portion is from g2a.

Few games on sale @ steam but discovered that most of them are cheaper still on green Man gaming! Grabbed raw data for £6.37 creed for £6.88 and lethal be for £2.12.
Loads more games on there with heavy discounts but that's all I grabbed.
