VR Funhouse Release Date July 14th

"We need a bigger boat"
Well my 1080 arrived the gainward golden sample and while it is an amazing card it takes up a little more than two slots thus the idea of keeping the 970 as a phys X in my system can not happen, yes in theory the 970 would just about fit but the fans and cooling of the 1080 would be affected (about 1mm space between the cards lol).

Is Nvidia partnering with HTC or something?? No oculus support.

Will most likely be because it requires the hand/wand controllers for input so expect to see it on Rift at a later date when the controllers are out.

Surely they could have acheived lower levels of detail in the particle system effects instead to get it running on the 970? From the specs it sounds like it's 'optimised' to justify, or get you to buy, their latest tech.

Would be interesting to hear if anyone gets it running on a lower end system and how that performs.

Ive just played through it.

Its a series of minigames. No real substance to it except to have a play about, also very tiring, especially the balloon popping game.
The skeet shooting was probably the most promising game, the accuracy you get in VR is fantastic.

I was able to play it on a gtx 970.

So basically like every other VR game then?

Both systems have just recently launched. Don't expect hundreds of games to be available right away. The same with pretty much every other launch.

There is enough content available to enjoy each platform for the time being as well as full games available.

Ah speaking like someone that's only just received theirs? Had since day one so come back a few months down the road and speak with me :)

I enjoyed it and it played pretty well on my 980Ti on Medium. Not sure I'd play it again; more of a demo for other people. Skeet shooting was good though; hit the ceiling lamp shade a few times!

Looked terrible when I first ran it - all blurry and strange 3D visual anomalies. Noticed I hadn't installed the latest drivers and its fine now :D

Very basic demo and barely pushes 35% usage on a dedicated 970 for PhysX. Looks really crisp @ High but it sat @ 45 fps on the mirror screen so must have been using re-projection.

Ran well on medium on my 1070, it auto picked the setting. The board in game says 1080 SLi for high settings! Shame theres really not much to it! 12mins and I was done  Skeet shooting was the best part but no substance overall.

As a tech demo and mini-games go, pretty good for free. Some nice effects too, and runs well on medium on my 980Ti. Physics are struggling though rather than framerate on high.
