VVTI/VVTLi & VTec Controllers

This is what we have to remember, one word. Yaris.

Any money spent on it is entirely pointless and would be better spent saving for a real car

Surely it's his money and his car so he is entitled to do what he pleases to it. He was only asking for advise on Vtec/vvti controllers..nothing else! If nobody has any answers for his question just simply shouldn't post! Stop trolling in that case..

Love it, some seriously patronising old folk on here  What’s even more funny I bet there only in there 20's sad :D

You need to name the mods you have done, but it can be worthwhile!

Hardly trolling - of course he's entitled do do what he wants with his money, but it does need to be pointed out how pointless an exercise it would be.

Ultimately, if he followed my suggestion and put the money he's spending on the Yaris to one side and saved for a more interesting car, he'd be much happier in the long run.

Their.

But would you pay extra to up the FSB or would you buy a better CPU? ;)

depends really.. if i couldnt afford a new cpu for £100 but could afford a new aircooler for a tenner, then id probably spend the tenner...

i dont understand why people on here dont get that people own cars, generally of varied nature, and may want to tart them up a bit or at least seek info on how to do this, even if it is not a Ferrari.

You think so? His Yaris may be a lot cheaper to run, tax, insure than a "better" car. So why change it? He might aswell make it better himself. TBH, i find it more fun changing parts of my car than i would just buying a new car.. Built not bought and all that jazz.

But if you want cheap to run and tax, you've got to accept it's not a road going rocket ship like the OP thinks. If you make it into one, chances are any savings in fuel and repairs are going to be removed

I got slightly trigger happy with the 01010101s I admit :D But I edited that before you posted you reply, so I win :p

Spelling was fine, you just used the wrong word ;)

Hey noting sadder sorry to say than people going round pulling people up on there spelling, yes spelling and using incorrect grammar and words. But if you enjoy such activities and get some pleasure in doing so fair play and carry on :)

Buy the thing, have some fun tinkering and enjoy the experience. Don't expect your car to be any quicker though, really...

I would fit one of those electronic dump valves, to get that head turning "psssstt" as you gun it through the drive thru.

Not really, it makes posts frustrating to read if you can't be bothered to spell words properly or use the correct grammar. It also makes you look like an idiot, I suspect you're not an idiot, but that's perception for you ;)

I wonder how many of those that are suggesting that this is a waste of time and that the OP should buy a "real" car have driven a Tsport or even a Yaris at all (a MK1 that is)?

I can honestly think of no car that I'd have much more fun in on a B-road blast, with the exception perhaps of a couple of 80s hatch backs. These cars are literally like go carts, so chuckable and controllable at the same time - sure they may not have loads of grunt, but they don't need it, they weigh little more than 900KG.

In fact, I'd go as far as saying that I reckon it would embarrass many of your cars with twice the power as soon as corners were involved.

If he can squeeze 20bhp out of it for a few hundred quid, I say go for it, that little extra power would make a perfect little go-cart like hatchback.

Not driven much then?

Clio 182
Clio 172
Saxo VTS
Porsche 944
Porsche 968
Mazda MX-5

Out of the cars i've driven the above are all better down the back roads.
