I learnt to drive in a Golf so naturally I've developed a liking to them, and the thought of a version of my car with that engine in is awesome. Still, each to their own.
I have to admit, if I'm ever able to afford an R32 I'll probably have a more mature taste or get a poser's car lol
OH, on this subject. Someone has a polo at school and claims it is a 1.6. It's the 2003 variant and has no label on the back, so surely it's a 1.2? I thought all VW's which are equipped with engines faster than the standard one have badges?

How does this not also apply to the Seat Leon Cupra R, the Audi S3, the Alfa Romeo 147 GTA (ok, thats not reliable), the Ford Focus ST/RS, the Astra VXR, infact any number of the plethora of hatchbacks which are compact and fast?

Golfs are not sexy. You can find them good looking, but sexy? Sure, an R32 looks good, but it isn't sexy. An Aston Martin is sexy, a Golf is not (Neither is a 530i, usual suspects - it's a good looking car but it isn't sexy. No regular car with a bodykit suddenly becomes sexy - only good looking).

you forgot to say "in your opinion" because i dont take anything you say as fact. You act as if your views are the face of the forums and that everyone has to agree that what you say is motoring law.
The golf to me IS sexy, as said by tommy too.
However a Seat owner will say the Cupra R is sexy. etc

Yes, but obviously I've been in a plethora of different cars belonging to all my mates and I'm not jealous of any of them because the Golf is so superior in terms of looks. Maybe not speed, but I'm only driving the 1.4 so that can be expected.
