Wallets

I've found Tony Perotti leather wallets to be good, i've had this one for about 7 years and it'll easily last another 7 if not more.

i love bigger, breast pocket wallets this is my third one since i was a teenager so... im averaging a new one every 6-7 years :)

the passport fits in perfectly, a place for notes, a place for receipts, 6 card slots and a load more pocket/card slots on the inside too.

it is quite thick but i like that cos i always know if i have it on me.

its branded ManmOnt, i think it was from an ebay shop .... not expensive
~£15 quid

Got a wallet off Amazon a good few months ago after my cheap one from a holiday abroad fell apart in about a year :o

Quite impressed with it so far, it's proper leather, still smells nice. It's a Lichfield Leather wallet from the 1642 range (model number 2032), nice textured 'map' style fabric inside, plenty of card pockets, and two sections for notes (one zippable). Also a coin pocket but I rarely have that much in it. Leather is still nice and soft.

Had an issue where a new wallet from there fell-apart within a month. Got in contact and their CS resolved it very quickly, so I can vouch for their service.

Got this myself: http://www.pureluxuries.com/product-info/cambridge-coffee-leather-wallet/1951-CAMBRIDGE-COFFEE/

I think it's a great little wallet. Had it nearly a year now and it seems to be coping nicely.

I can vouch for Animal wallets too. Had a couple over the years and they certainly do last. I was quite gutted when my old one finally gave up the ghost after six years of abuse.

I used to get through a wallet each year before I bought a decent leather one from Fossil, which I've now had for about four years and is still holding up.

This site is where I will be buying my next wallet from when the time comes, the very small wallet would seam to suit my needs, despite being somewhat expensive.

Agreed - go for class and buy a nice leather one. Preferably not from the big pile of junk found at TK-MAXX. My mrs bought me one from Aspinalls, London a few years back. It's very nice. Still smells leathery too.

i have the travel wallet..love bellroy.

I love Mont Blanc wallets - bit pricey I guess, and the markup must be massive...But I like them. Seem to last for years too - this is my second one in about 12 years:

Saying that though, lately I've found myself using a wallet/case combo for my iPhone. Has my Oystercard in it, and usually a cash card. Used to to use it when going out, but now I seem to be using it all the time:

Previously I'd use a small MB wallet for cash/oyster/card when out to play rather than for work (pen/trackpad for scale):

I have a small ted baker one a little like this:

I only need it for notes and a few cards

I carry a debit card
Credit card (I have a couple but only carry one on me)
Driving licence
Oyster card
Loyalty cards
EHIC

I think that's it. Coins go in the pocket and receipts get filed at home I don't keep them in my wallet for more than a day.

As for the ID card window, I stand by my views in both their practically (zero in this country) and durability from my experience, and if a Police Officer pull you over and ask to see your driver's licence, he would wants to see your ID, and asks you take it out of the wallet for him so the window is pointless there too.

I mostly agree with what you're saying, a window isn't really practical or useful for most people, but if you have a travel pass or something similar which you use most days, it's quite useful. I use it for when I'm using buses, saves messing around trying to find the pass, it's always there, I don't even have to take it out of the wallet!

I've been rocking my Ducti for 2 years now, starting to wear down though, need a new wallet for Xmas methinks.

Currently have a FCUK wallet, it's done me well. I think it's 2 years old now.

my wallets always end up looking battered after about 6 months, leather or not mainly because they live in my back pocket and I tend to sit on it while driving
