**WANT 8GB 2400MHz FOR AS LITTLE AS £59.99 Inc. VAT? - THEN CHECK THIS THREAD OUT!!** (MV-3V4G3D/US)

Could be, I just about have my head around the mains but seconds and thirds are straight over my head! I'll stick up what is being used tonight and see if something obvious shows up :)

I've had 3 chances to move to a rog board, regret it big time :(

Yeah I've no idea on them either bud, but maybe we can do a comparison or something. I'll post up later what mine are set to.

The ROG boards are good, but I can't believe your board should have any trouble with clocking this RAM. The X79 chipset is made by Intel AFAIK and boards are just supplying and controlling power (that's obviously a very generalistic statement). Unless something is very wrong in the BIOS which I doubt with MSI.

you'd think that, but iirc some Asus boards (RIVE/RIVF I think) don't like the crucial ballistix stuff, even says to avoid if on those boards on the store page!

Righty, this is the default 2133mhz settings, this throws out a few hundred errors by test #6 pass 1 in memtest: 11-15-15-40-2T 183

And this is the best I can manage on 1866 with CL9 (apologies, screen was taken before I changed CL), if I drop the CR down to 1T system fails to post:

Core MP: 38x
Core Voltage: 1.35v (high, but just to make sure!)
DDR Voltage: 1.65v
SA/IMC: 1.35v
I/O / VTT: 1.35v
PLL: 1.9v

Apologies for the delay, I confess I had completely forgot. :o

Here's my seconds and thirds, maybe something will help you out.

Timings are backed off slightly as I've been chasing a crashing during games issue, but I'm 90% sure it was my VRAM OC that was causing it so I'll be tightening them back up again soon. :)

Cheers :)

I've been in touch with 8 pack and it would seem that this memory has poor support on msi x79 & z77 boards so I have a few replacement kits coming this week to test :)

I have 8GB (4x2GB) of 2133mhz CL9 Ripjaws and 8GB (4x2GB) of 2400mhz HyperX.

I'll run both kits to see what the SA & VTT sit at in XMP to give me an idea of IMC strength then probably stick with the G.Skill stuff as 8 Pack has shown me they tune to 2400+ at CL10 :D

Sammys are going on the MM, its a shame really, but no-one to blame but MSI for it.

Test for initial stability using mem test outside windows (Bootable USB is ideal). Then run Pi32mb inside windows to test initial windows stability then adjust from that.

After this run your usual stability tests like prime blend, aida, linx with full memory and general use such as gaming.

I will post up some exact settings I use on my ASUS Z77 MVG when I get home. Which CPU you using????

You can use Turbo evo and memtweak it from in windows to adjust settings further.

Just an FYI, picked up a virus from that link, could be as its now quite old, but just a heads up.

Holy Thread resurrection.

I've had this RAM for a while, but only just decided to overclock it as part of a new build. So far have it at 2133mhz with 10-10-10-24-1T timings and 1.45v.

Will play further over the next few days but pretty happy with it so far.
