"War on Scientology"

What's the betting that most of the actions of this "war" will be editing wikipedia pages on scientology with rude pictures?

Sadly I fear this war will backfire and just enable the scientologists to gain more popularity and enable them to play the religious persecution card.

i cant remember the exact quote but that’s almost the exact wording although Scientologist claim he never said anything like that but they say he also wasn't ever a drug addict and there’s proof he was

the "war" will probably backfire there are better ways to go about things than crashing there fax server im quite suprised its has some much support on here

So he wrote a short sci fi story about DC9's flying through space to settle on another planet. He then called this Dianetics. He made loads of money, bought a boat, had lots of naughty behaviour with young female recruits and then died. His son has been reported as saying the whole thing is a complete con. Still, if it gives an individual pleasure to give their life and money to a cult, then its up to them.
 
i dont see what the big deal is... if tom cruise didnt join then i doubt i'd even know about it

no stupider than any other religions imo
 
Exactly, their aim is to recruit people that they can get money from or use to advance the religion, so if you are poor you aint worth that much to them, you might be getting conned but you never know you might for a job interview and the guy is a scientologist, you get the job and suddenly the money you paid to join was cheap and to advance in the relgion you will pay more money but hey it got you a job so why not... and it goes on. It is just like a secret club from what I know. Atleast they don't make you go every Sunday and listen to how you are going to burn in hell unless you do about a million things, live a life of misery but it will all work out in the end, while I collect all the moneys from you and pay no tax.

The fact that the guy who made it wanted to get money, was a scfi writer and did drugs shows me he knew what he was doing. Suckers... :D
 
If I wasn't before I think I am now convinced that Scientology is a religion. Only religions tend to come in for this much flak, particularly from people stating their views opposing it are entirely logical and unbiased. Scientologists are the new Muslims.
 
Was this the same people who took down the RIAA website and changed all it's content?
 
makes you wonder what it was like when christianity first turned up. just think what could have happened if they had the internet then

Thats really bizarre. I would think it would be a really good rally except for the perjorative term "Fags" which makes me think that it is supposed to be negative... I interpret that as a false poster put out by Scientology to associate iintolerance with this "anonymous" group.

Am I paranoid yet? Everything is getting so confusing :S

I guess you haven't heard of that company called microsoft then, whose windows media drm still remains cracked after over a year despite having the best security experts, done by a few people in their free time. Or how their new operating system called vista is constantly being pirated, despite having the securest activation system yet. Or how hundreds of thousands of people are running illegally copied games on their xbox 360 despite them working 24/7 to stop it.

Your also forgetting that scientoligy don't have anything like unlimited funds, and that ddos attacks aren't preventable.

Nah - that's just how "anonymous" (or 4chan) refer to each other. Amerifags, Britfags, newfags, oldfags, etc - you get the idea.
