"War on Scientology"

Thats really bizarre. I would think it would be a really good rally except for the perjorative term "Fags" which makes me think that it is supposed to be negative... I interpret that as a false poster put out by Scientology to associate iintolerance with this "anonymous" group.

Am I paranoid yet? Everything is getting so confusing :S

That's the way anon speaks, if you're from Britain you're a Britfag, and so on.

The only thing is... that anyone could turn up to this rally, including Scientologists... then try to find out who the people are...

If there is a cause worth defending, I would rather do it without the mask, consequences be damned.

I heard somewhere that at one anti-cos rally there were OVER NINE THOUSAND attendees.

P.S. 'Project Chanology' into Google will show you the light.

If I wasn't before I think I am now convinced that Scientology is a religion. Only religions tend to come in for this much flak, particularly from people stating their views opposing it are entirely logical and unbiased. Scientologists are the new Muslims.

Yeah, the only difference being islam is centuries of years old and Scientology was invented half a decade ago by a failed science fiction writter who is quoted as having a fincancial interest in inventing a religion.

Woot! Lets commit ritual suicide.

Sorry but your logic is fundamentally flawed. If you accept Scientology as a religion, your a moron. At the very least, its a perversion of the term 'science' since it has no bases in science what so ever, just as christian scientists have nothing to do with science either.

No need to get personal.

Most religions have core philosophies at their heart... Scientology has some of these. It also, however, has lots of Cult-like group dynamics, and the fact that it abuses copyright and trademark laws to protect itself, as well as "attack the attacker" policies. Whereas Islam is more like the mob, Scientology is more like Dr Evil and his henchmen.

Dang, now look what you've made me do, I've lost all credibility now. The point still stands, however.

The masks are to emphasise the fact that they are anonymous.

i'd just like to clarify

this is basically a lot of 4chan users and associated nerds and wannabies as represented here

verses an overzealous and possibly corrupt but at the same time remarkably powerful organizations come religion which shall be represented by one of there many investments

i still think that this is the wrong way to go about confronting Scientology and even if i agreed with this course of action i would prefer if someone else was doing it

can i ask if anyone would even know what scientology was if they didnt hear about it from the news/tv or somebody else?

Yes you can. I knew about this back in the mid 80's, from first hand experience. I have a colleague at work who is one and gets all offended if I make a small jibe about them.

I was not fully aware at the time about the full story about DC9s, but it was obvious they were a cult and dangerous.

I learned a wee bit about it in A Level Sociology before I even knew what it was. It is described in sociology books as a New Age cult. Even then I thought it was looney!

You've got to be kidding me. They have a tiny number of members compared to religions. College age hackers have taken on much more bigger and powerful targets with ease.

Buying a boat (probably on a huge loan) hardly makes scientology amazing powerful, just wealthy.

Your starting to make me think you are a scientologist.

Anyone with half a brain cell knows that Scientology is a scam. If they're stupid enough to be immersed into the cult, then it serves them right. Just consider it a tax on the stupid. What I disagree with however, is the blatent abuse of copyright, free-speech and 'special status' which Scientology loves to throw around.

I'm all for free speech, but Scientology needs a good hard slap. There's such a thing as being too tolerant.
