Will wait, happy with BF6 anyway at the moment , & it does look like a walking simulator at times :OSame here, could be dead in a month lol
very similar to my opinion on the game. it's not bad, it's just not brilliant. it's a bit of a mishmash of existing games, which isn't a complaint as most games usually are, but it doesn't do anything special or better than already out there. for example, Squad already does the 'large scale war' aspect and does it better. other games do the arcadey type side of it better too.I got in to the beta. It was OK, it would have been right up my street when I was a kid playing the early battlefield games, but it didn't really have that pull for me. It was fun sitting on the side of littlebirds and getting shipped in by players, you can leave tips of money to thank pilots, same with medics that revive, you can also add like incentives to reward reviving like offering money. It's all done with a hotkey in game so it's nice and simple.
The game mode was basically fighting in a large circle around a POI with an even tighter roaming circle inside that where you earned a lot more money, forcing the fight together and to move around at the sometime which I thought was an interesting mechanic. They have the ability to ricochet kills off metal surfaces which I think is cool but I can't see it ever really deliberately being used.
It's very gamey, it's like Red vs Blue vs Green colours to identify people and the artificial setup make it feel like you're in a giant game of paintball, so there's no real suspension of disbelief for me, it doesn't take itself too seriously. It's technically quite impressive, there's a lot of options to tweak everything and get a custom setup exactly how you want it, from graphics to controls. The devs seem to care about both the technical aspect and the gameplay aspects, it's one of those games where it's just really clear the devs actually care, it's hard to explain, the best way I can put it is like...it's obvious they're gamers making a game they'd want to play themselves.
I don't see myself playing it, but I don't think its bad, I'm old, grumpy/depressed and picky, it doesn't quite land for me BUT in my small amount of time with it my opinion is that if you like the look of it from its promotional material and you're excited about that kind of 3 way fight, then you'll probably like the final game.

if you dont know this company they basically never finish a game then give excuses. once they got your cash. cant believe anyone believes anything they say.battalion launched great hype like this dead within 3 months. promod dead instantly. start new project now its Wardogs turn. maybe one day they will stick to a game and actually support it for month then a couple of months after they got peoples cash.Same here, could be dead in a month lol

its a battlefield clone battlefields dead. if this lasts 6 months i will be surprised.
its not about the refund they drop games quicker than a prostitutes knickers. basically get the early money oh...now what oh we done start new project. they done it multiple times now. not just once. battalion was busy for about 2 to 3 months dead. they did nothing with it. then tried to bring it back ftp dead within a month again. promod same thing tried the same tactics get people on board dead game again. as said if you looking for anything long term from these dont expect it. if its a quick cause you in a bored period with no games maybe it will do. i personally wouldnt give em a penny. as you just financing to just carrying on doing the same old thing. To be fair they did refund backers of their Kickstarter for Battalion 44 (not sure anyone beyond that) and then did a lot of work for hire jobs too. I think it'll last longer than 6 months by a fair stretch as there's significant interest around the game, but it's Early Access and should be treated as such in terms of development and content which they've outlined fairly in their recent video as to what to expect.
Releasing anything these days is a minefield and you're always asking the question "When should we release? Now, or later?" - plus they want to get out ahead of the inevitable GTAVI hype train that will start to build soon.
One distinct difference is that Bulkhead aren't self-publishing this time, they did with B44 and Promod. Team 17 are doing that this time around so that might actually come with better decisions.
But I get it, if people are sceptical then side-step the game, but with a million wishlists on Steam that's good metrics to start with.

I had access during the beta and to be honest I was not a fan of it.
Was a pain having to get back to the action when you die as its not within walking distance of where you spawn and will need to use a vehicle or helicopter..
This is a clone of the game mode King of the Hill in Arma. The online team based shooter genre is one that I've largely moved away from in recent years, as I get massively frustrated with the players nowadays, it looks interesting and I'll see what the feedback from the closed beta is. My fears are strong though that it will end up as yet another title where there ends up being little teamplay and lots of people running about like headless chickens gaming the mechanics to get currency/xp rather than playing the game...so I remain very much on the outside currently waiting to hear if its the usual **** show or not.
Arma 3 version was a lot of fun..King of the Hill is the only reason i still have reforger installed.
This looks great.
