Really noticing the higher level players and the power that AP ammo has, melting through level 3 armour while my FMJ doesn't seem to touch them :(
Yep, couldn't agree more. First night i've noticed it clearly. It's almost game breaking imo. Level 1 to 4 armour should provide an extra 50% health tops, irrespective of bullets used.

Yeah there definitely needs to be some balancing done, otherwise you're going to end up like Tarkov, great fun if you haven't got a job/family/friends/anything else going on in your life, but for the casual gamer it's essentially pointless as you'll never be able to compete.

1st full game last night, also turned into a $100,000 game too even with my free gear as I sat in a tower with a scavenged range finder, reviving, spotting and firing the odd shot here & there. Went from WD1 to WD16 iirc

We lost by one point, amazingly to the Blue team, but was still fun and the best bit was the bitching between team members after one accused another of stealing their gear when they were downed. Bit of tit-for-tat for the next 20mins with TK'ing and then a tannoy announcement stating they'd come to a truce.
Toxicity galore in the chat though - everyone's an expert on where others should be. :D

Prox chat is very close proximity too. Can't hear **** :D

I'm bored of it now, put 40 hours in. I'll wait until they balance it before revisiting.
That’s what I’m doing too. Had a lot of fun the first few days, but the power imbalance with high tier armour/gear isn’t fun. Cheating is becoming a bigger concern too ( last 3 games had a player using an aimbot wiping out a dozen players within seconds ).

I'm not bored yet but with this season being so short, ~3 weeks left before first wipe, rebalance and update? Despite enjoying it, I'm reluctant to put too much time into it only to be forced back to square one in such a short time, that and the level grind being so punishing further you progress.

Cheating is definitely becoming a prominent issue, which is always going to be a thing with a release so big. I've seen a few live bans in game now. I was playing a few rounds yesterday evening with a squad and we definitely experienced some anomalous play. I couldnt quite say 100% but some of those shots were certainly questionable. It wasnt enough to sway the game winning all three. 1st round was a brilliant balanced battle that we managed to swing towards the end, following two were complete walkovers. Even with suspected potential cheaters on the other teams. Easiest way to handle it is to report and get on with it. Its rare one person can influence the game enough to effect the outcome. They can certainly be a nuisance and a distraction though.

Yeah not a fan of the complete wipe, will put me off playing it long term tbh.
Yeah its not ideal for a more casual/busy player. They have stated that the starting weapons/equipment could end up being better/larger selection and possibly change wipe to wipe. However we will see how they handle it. Not the biggest fan but I can see the argument for it.

It's the only option that works in a game like this.

Just had a great round, won it very easily on the Green team and the builders built the best FOB I have ever seen. I am adamant the ones away from the towers end up the best.

Had a little play on this yesterday.. so far just a bit confused and getting killed a lot!
I'm thinking I'll start running a taxi service rather than fighting untill I get to grips with it a bit more..that sensible for a beginner?

And then maybe builder/support.. with base building do people generally just build on their own? seems it will be hard to coordinate a base design with multiple people building with different ideas?

It's a good idea if your good with the helicopter, but there's usually about 6 choppers going and the money isn't great.

Yeah I got smacked with a hammer for building wrong the other day.

I was spending a lot of time getting killed/travelling to the battlefield when I first got into it. Just have to find a playstyle that worked for you. If you do play heli, please dont be one of those scared to put down or get low enough to allow for the squad to step off... I get it, it can be risky but there is nothing more frustrating than being forced to parachute in and being spotted by every recon on the map. I've started preferring APC spawn or making my own way into the zone in wheeled vehicle over Heli just because of this.

I'm primarily a Recon/Squad marksman, I'm a liability in CQB, though I am getting better. I tend to play better on the periphery of the of the immediate skirmish. Close enough to be able to help my squad/team but not so close I get caught up in the melee, I like to have a bigger picture and be able to react to flanking squads etc. Thats the most efficient way to earn for me at least.

I started with basic gun, bandages, free rez tool and binoculars (items>recon) and stayed in the tower spotting helis and whatever else to get a feel for the game and build up some money. Look at the map to see if your team goes for the hotzone and follow them if it's not too far. In case you don't know, you can't spot through glass so you need to break it first.

I'll be interested to try a level capped server (that anyone can join) but you can only use unlocks up to Lv30 for example. Limits what's available, but also doesn't mean no-lifers can't dominate newer players. If you pardon the pun, it's makes for a more level battlefield.
