Really enjoying the game, but some matches go really long!
Been playing on Powerbits server, and only had a couple of “really, how?” Moments, but I think it’s probably mini map in reality

Had a game Saturday took 3 hours, each team managed to get to 85 points before Red pushed on to win.

Helped me get my driving rank up constantly driving supplies around.

Only got an hour or 2 every other day which is better suited for a couple of rounds on MW or BF6, the reported grinds putting me off this game, am I correct?

As others have said I wouldn't be put off by the grind. Most games I've been in over the weekend, a random has dumped supply crates at the base with m4's, level 4 lids & armour etc.

I have unlocked quite a bit now, but still go in with a cheap loadout as there's fun to be had in being a bit more cautious and trying to scavenge a kit together from nothing. I've found these are often the most enjoyable runs.

Had my first proper sessions on this over the weekend. Love it. Brilliant gameplay without the need for AAA bells and whistles, kinda old skool.

Have only really ran around smashing things with hammers of varying sizes and driving supplies in so far, but had great fun doing it.

I'm getting pretty good at sniping with the mosin at range now, I'm regularly hitting shots at 500m and 600m. Still not great at moving targets, but that will come.

Played two games tonight and the mortars and artillery tanks were out of control. Completely ruined the matches. There needs to be easier ways to counter artillery tanks. They are ridiculously OP.

They work as intended, I admit they can be a pain but the counters are mostly easy, it's just nobody does it typically. You can set up a separate mortar fob for counter battery, run recon behind enemy lines (take anti tank mines or c4 for proper arty, if your team doesn't have its own arty) or there's the drones or attack helicopters.

How do you spot them? The artillery tanks seem much worse than mortars. When there are several hidden miles back it is near impossible. So few people have the required pilot level to counter them. I guess it is the reason why i frag in the hz and leave the building for others.

The easiest method is getting a tier 3 hammer and building a stingray launcher, they're usually in the space between enemy safe zones and the circles and will get a little white target box around them. Failing that a little bird and c4 you'll here them fire even in a helicopter before you spot them making them easy to spot

Ah yes, i need to play around with the stingrays. May as well use up my money before the reset. Thanks, will try that.

On a separate note, I got demolished yesterday by two guys on the side of a littlebird with grenade launchers. Was incredibly effective.

It's easier to load a humvee with landmines + large supply crate full of landmines, you can basically hunt down the artillery, stick landmines on him, then use the rest of the landmines to mine all the roads out of the enemy base, it doesn't pay much, but it's hilarious to see all random explosive kills rack up

I scavenged a backpack, and found the IR spotting gadget, so for the next 30 minutes I was playing with it.
The result of which I now feel that the IR Spotting gadget is OP, just stick it on low zoom and sweep areas quickly for enemy.
Has anyone else tried them out yet?
A couple of solutions maybe:
- Uses batteries
- The range is limited by the heat signature of the target, say 150m or 200m for infantry, or 400m for vehicles.

Lots of complaints about these, and I think they’re responsible for a lot of the hacker claims.

I think the spotting mechanic needs a bit of work, being spotted then appearing live on the mini map for 30 seconds is too OP in general, maybe if when spotted only your last know location is saved on the map for x seconds.

A buildable UAV similar to the stinger drone or something that does live spotting over a smaller area for a set amount of time could provide a cool feature? Gives the fobbits something to build and support their front line troops, could cost a lot but launch over the hot zone to support a hot zone push?

Definitely experienced my first game with someone actively using an aim bot. Same dude, 7 headshots every time I got near the circle. Even took a ghillie suit, stayed out of the circle and hadn't fired a shot and boom headshot from the same guy again.

I just don't see the point, it's not a game you can farm and trade items. There's no money to be had, just spite.

I believe a lot of cheaters don't just to annoy other players.

Mini patch that was released:

WARDOGS will be entering a maintenance window today at 8:00 UTC, estimated to last 1 hour. Services will be offline while we deploy update 0.1.2.

Update 0.1.2 Patch Notes

This minor update is aimed at thwarting some of the recent XP & cash exploits and security issues seen since the early access launch, including a fix for the Windows WD-L020 crash error.
This update also includes minor UI changes to help increase traffic toward Infantry Mode and Low-Level servers, as well as some other minor quality of life improvements.

Key Updates for 0.1.2

  • Windows 11 'WD-L020' Crash Error Fix
  • Bug & Exploit Fixes: Egregious cash & XP exploits have been addressed alongside various gameplay bugs that were damaging the integrity of fair play.
  • Server Browser: New ‘Deploy’ UX flow intended to better highlight the existence of ‘Infantry Mode’ and ‘Low Level’ community servers.
WD-L020 Crash Error Fix
  • Fixed the issue caused by the latest Windows 11 update, KB5124010, causing the recent WD-L020 crashes.
Cash & XP Gain Exploits Fixed
  • Revive action validity checks are now fully server authoritative, reducing the possibility of this being abusable across the map.
  • Fixed vehicle fly through exploit, rewards are now capped.
  • Any rewards for destroying buildables now scale with their build progress - so destroying a placed schematic no longer gives a full reward.
  • Depositing pallets into a FOB outside the zone now awards reduced rewards.
To be clear – anyone who has been caught absuing Cash & XP exploits, or worse Real Money Trading, has had their cash and progression reset and risks being permanently banned. We expected season 01 to have several undiscovered exploits, so up to this point we have been more lenient with first time offenders. That leniency is now over.
We have zero tolerance for economy abuse and players now risk being permanently banned without warning if caught abusing repeatable unintended exploits.

Server Browser & Minor UI Improvements
  • New ‘DEPLOY’ UX Flow. Hit deploy and choose Official, Community, Infantry Mode or Low-Level servers. This is the first step intended to help signpost players toward servers running these modifiers.
  • Advanced Filters have been added back to the Official servers list.
  • Long server names are no longer truncated. Hover over an entry to see the full server name.
  • After you click Join, you'll see that you're connecting, then your place in the queue if there is one.
  • Anonymous mode now hides the server name on the loading screen, just like Streamer mode. The server name in the pause menu also stays hidden unless you choose to show it.
  • Region select now shows how many regions you have selected.
  • Gamepad is now supported on the DEPLOY selection screen.
Community Servers (for Server Admins)
  • Scheduled restarts: you can now set a daily restart time (UTC).
  • RCON AllowedHosts: you can now set this to restrict who can access RCON.
  • RCON message and broadcast lengths are now capped.
  • RCON now defaults to Standard response detail instead of Full, and config responses no longer expose server internals.
  • ServerImageURL is now checked when the config loads.
Server Stability Improvements
  • Various server stability hotfixes.
  • Increased server security to prevent exploitation.
Bug Fixes
  • Throwables (grenades, smoke, and C4) can no longer be used from enclosed vehicle seats.
  • The adaptive crosshair now correctly hides while aiming down sights.
  • Fixed buildable crit spots reappearing in the same place you just hit, getting pushed into corners, or jumping to the far side of a structure. They now favour a spot you can reach from where you're standing.
  • Fixed a Havoc bug causing increased damage taken from 20mm and 30mm cannon fire.
  • Improved localisation translations.
Looking Toward Season 02.
For those looking for more significant updates, Season 02 is planned to be a larger content update, with new map conditions, equipment, balance reworks and additional features.
More information on Season 02 will be dropping next week.
