Warframe Free to play shooter

I watched a couple of videos including the video above and it seems like a lot of running around with no action.

barmy's testimony seems to support that.

=/

Not sure about lack of action as on my second mission it lasted ages and I had hordes of enemies spawning and attacking me. It pays to explore the levels, smash everything for loot and hack terminals, open vaults/rooms as there's a lot of shiny stuff to obtain for crafting/upgrade your gear. I'm really enjoying it and the combat is great plus Loki+Stealth is brilliant.

Co-op is good IF the players your with stick together but when you get a rambo in the group running off and triggering everything the missions don't last. I reckon you'll get the most out of this if played with a good group of friends and not randoms.

It's definitely worth the 1gig download to try out, so far it's above average for sure.

I played this a couple of times.
Got bored when I realised you could run to each objective without shooting anything / getting shot.

It's pretty good, laser doors are very annoying however and I noticed some graphical glitches in the first infection level - that's to be expected though from a beta. It reminds me a lot of Mass Effect 3 multiplayer.

Played it in beta with a couple of friends, it's not bad, but it's not great, nothing special, it got boring after a couple of hours.

I played a bit solo... It was boring as hell, the game spawned 3 bots with me that just killed everything while I was opening lockers.

Installed a swell however just went through tutorial, tried to connect to online, but failed. is online working or not? (steam)

I can see it being fun eventually, all it actually did was make me want to play the multiplayer to Mass Effect 3 which is much better.

I played a few dozen hours, got to lvl2, rank30+ on a few things, tried a bunch of the weapons out etc. But the problem then comes. The missions are all just about the same, once you've cleared a couple of planets you've seen all you're going to see now you're just grinding for the small upgrades to your survivability/damage that come less and less frequently just to keep doing the same missions over and over in slightly harder form.

So I think once much more diversity in the content is put into the game and some other mechanic is put in place to give you a reason to grind it would definitely be something I pick up for some fun.

Had a go too with squad, what I like about it is that it is not waves to complete like in ME£, but moving across map to a different locations...

It is still beta as far as I know, how long it will take until full version is available?

It already has a cash shop so it is in no rush. Being beta it has an excuse for things not working properly. I don't think there are going to be any forced character resets either.

So what thoughts to people have on any Warframes / Weapons they have purchased. I am still working with Excalibur which seems pretty simple and you have to love the soulder charge attack.

Not bought any weapons yet although saving up for one of the 50k credit primary weapons, possibly the Gorgon as my playing pal already has a sniper weapon (the bow). I kind of want the Boltor but that looks a lot harder to acquire as you need blueprint parts.

I've been playing this for a while and I'm pretty impressed, especially as it's an f2p. I had the Cronus longsword blueprint, but I've bought the bow and the double heat dagger blueprints as well so I can build those.

Haven't tried the other Warframes yet, but as other people have said, better not to go in on your own. I tried that once last night and got my ass handed to me on a couple of the levels and burned through my 4 revivals pretty quick.

Downloaded it, played one session but didn't really know what the heck I was meant to be doing (other than slaughtering enemies lol.)

Sounds like you got it first time

In all seriousness though, it's basically kill everyone, collect something, rescue someone... relatively simple, but the gameplay is so much fun it works!

Don't forget Assassinate or Defend missions, of which the latter is great for rewards and shiny stuff.

The game seems quite simplistic on first few plays but once you start upgrading your suit and weapons, combining skills and crafting new gear it becomes very addictive indeed !!

Ah of course, I'd forgotten about the assassinate missions and I haven't done the defense ones yet, need to play it more but I'm bound to when my other cyber-ninja brethren are available :)

The defend missions are quite fun in a decent group as they get progressively harder but much more rewarding.

I've got tons of MODS from them and a few blue-prints so now I'm farming mats for the uber Paris Bow :D
