OmG if this happens it could be amazing.

He has the love for the IP so you know it will stay true to it's roots.

He make an awsome Emperor of Mankind hah (Horus Hersey)

Sucks he isn't coming back as Snyder's Superman, he was the only worthy successor to Reeve we've seen :(

But a leading role in a 40k project... that'll be fun :D

Isn't Amazon a bit hit and miss for a beloved IP. We've had some pretty good adaptions of Thriller type stuff Reacher and Terminal List but fantasy has had Wheel of Time was super underwhelming and then there was Rings of Power.........
I'm not a 40k fan but I've seen it around for better part of 30 years and would hate to see a hash job done.

Oh god, anyone but Amazon please! Henry is built for the 40k universe and due to his personal interest investment would be able to take up some great roles.

What ever happens it needs good writers with a full grasp on the depth of the 40k world.

Don't think it would happen. A successful 40k project would involve a big budget and has a niche audience. Those two things won't combine to 'greenlight this' in any movie producer's book.

Pretty naive of you there Bigpig...its amazon, it won't stay true to the ip

Hmm, Amazon has been sinking quite a bit of cash into 'niche' projects lately, WoT for example. Could happen.. :)

I would say WoT has much wider audience appeal, much like GoT it had potential to appeal to a bigger non book audience. I'm not sure 40k has that. What story would you even tell? Horus Heresy is FAR too long, it would take so many series to tell that story. Something like Eisenhorn has the most potential probably.

Wouldn't Witcher fall under that category?

Unless I miss background info about the Witcher fanbase outside of the video games, wouldn't Witcher be a smaller niche?

Witcher is nowhere near as expensive to make. Very little CGI needed beyond the odd monster. Again it has broad fantasy appeal too. I'm not sure how much appeal 40k would have to sci fi fans that aren't already 40k fans.

If done well, it would draw back sci-fi fans that have seen Hollywood take a big steaming dump on ST and SW over the last decade and have closed wallets accordingly.

40k is nothing like either of those things though. This is what I mean about niche. It's reasonable to expect a LOTR fan might be interested in WoT but 40k has almost nothing in common with Star Trek. It would be a huge gamble.

I suppose... CGI, I see your point.

But I'd argue that scifi appeal to non-40k fans could be quite easy as it's a bit different from the other stuff out there... so as long as it's well written, could do well.

Plus you have the nostalgia factor that I don't think Witcher has/had... a lot of kids in my school knew about it even if they didn't take part & those a little older will have been familiar with / aware of it before home console gaming became more mainstream.

I ight be wrong, but I think it might get more attention than you seem to + if they secure Cavill in a leading role, that'll bring in plenty of extra viewers.

The Halo show was pretty poor, but it scored a lot of viewers, even though the Halo game fans didn't respond well.

Listen

Every single IP I have loved has been shafted.

I gotta hold onto some hope that someone out there just wants to make good entertainment.

Hah
hehe, I mean you have seen Amazon's mission statement regarding its streaming shows right? You'd be better off if someone like HBO grabbed any rights, and even then it's touch and go as to if they hire numpties to write and produce :(
