Warhammer Online

Wow I had no idea Warhammer's release was so close.

I like WoW, but have high hopes for this game too, as a long time admirer of the Warhammer Lore.

Edit:

Thanks for the post Arknor.

I dont know a lot about the game, can someone explain this to me:

• Sets of gear will be spread throughout these fortresses so players will have yet again additional sets of armor to strive for from various locations in the WAR world.

• Adam's Zealot was only level 2 yet he was able to hold his ground against level 7 players because of how scenario's work - they boost player's abilities so that everyone feels on equal footing. It was working quite well.

- Why would you try to collect armor, if (implied by the 2nd bullet point) everyone gets boosted to the same level anyway?

Yeah the boosting does indeed work very well, your effective level for damage/health is a set number, if your lower than the limit you get boosted up, if your higher you get knocked down.

Obviously the higher your natural level the more abilities you will have and the better gear you will have, even then though a well skilled low level player can still knock 7 shades of doo doo out of a higher level player (in pvp area's only).

Time for another MMO to come out that people will say is going to take a lot of WoW's playerbase.

Age of Conan got pwnsauced and it's gonna be Warhammers turn soon.

Nobody should be saying it will take a lot of WoWs playerbase, anyone who does clearly has no concept of what WoWs playerbase consists of. I am really enjoying WAR, and am most definately buying it as my next MMO, however its blatantly obvious to anyone who knows anything about MMOs that WAR will not take a lot of WoWs playerbase, nor is it trying to. They appeal to different types of players.

a lot of people who play wow like pvp a lot and they are only playing it until something better comes along.

im not saying its a large portion of the wow playerbase but even if it was just 10% its still a lot.
a lot of people who used to love daoc play wow aswell

Have the CE editions been on sale in hmv already? As they would only take my details and no cash when I wanted to order it, will be very narked if I've missed out.
yea some months backs ,HMV are wierd and sell the CE preorder boxs for £10 there staff are largely clueless and dont seem to realise its not a game in itself...

aparently if you buy the pre order box and come back with your receipt when the CE edition is in stores they will give u the money back.

knowing how uninformed the HMV staff are they will just plonk the CE editions on the shelfs and sell them to anyone who walks in off the street.

Thats as maybe, but what was said was that it wouldnt take "a lot" of WoWs userbase. 10% of something is not a lot. The 10% may be a large number, but the fact that it represents 10% of the whole clearly means its not "a lot". Its a bit like 10% of 500 milllion quid, sure 50 million in itself is a lot, but as a portion of 500 million its not a lot.

Like the looks of Witch Hunters, Squig Herders and Shadow Warriors at the moment.

Is it me or is there no option for Euro contries in the Beta sign up?

I see they are going the route of no official forums again, what will be the official unofficial ones though? Freddyshouse again?

I hope it comes out soon I don't want to get dragged back into WoW when Wotlk comes out.

It's been such a long time since I played daoc I can't even remember what any of their dungeons where like, someone remind me where they any good?

On the whole the dungeons in Daoc were average, nothing great, nothing terrible. The possible exception was Darkness Falls which was pretty enjoyable, especially the RvR in it. The dungeons were never really the focal point of Daoc (which was all about the RvR), WAR is much the same. Nobody should come to WAR expecting state of the art PvE dungeons, if anyone does they will be sorely disappointed.

Just as in Daoc, WAR simply isnt focused on dungeons, its just not what the game is about.
