Warhammer Total War Confirmed

I saw some of the vids over the weekend. I looks really good. Lots of special race units you get with Warhammer (and not TW). Made it look interesting to play. The campaign map was a bit traditional TW though.

Tempted to pre-order now.

After watching some streams of the vampires on YouTube I can't wait for this game! If it runs as smooth as Attila does then I will be happy with it tbh. I pre ordered for 21 quid a few months back guessing the chaos doc will cost 6 quid on steam after launch. Can't wait to pilot a doom diver into some stunnty dwarfs!!

I've got a feeling this release may be better.

Due to the lack of mods they won't be able to rely on the community to fix things this time around & hopefully with have the foresight to do it properly.

They did delay the release which is a good thing.

I'm not convinced :p

What is the release date now?

I'm the same as you - not convinced. The pre-release footage for Rome 2 looked impressive and look how that turned out !

I'll keep my fingers crossed it all turns out good, but I definitely won't be pre-ordering and will wait for reviews.

Empire and Rome 2 had rocky starts but they got them running nice after a few patches. As for people not liking the dlc prices I know that I have found them to be great value in Rome 2 atilla empire and shogun2. The reason for this is dlc at 6 quid gave me over 100 hrs gameplay .

Not May games at 30 quid give me that much game play these days !!!

The base games at 30 quid always give me more then 300 hrs of gameplay so again I find it great value for money.

As far as total warhammer goes I can understand why they won't be alloweing modding since the intellectual rights belong to games workshop and not any modders, but these are just my humble views :) I so can't wait for this game in May !

And therein lies the issue, after a string of day one buys that took months to be stable (3 Computers later I still have only managed to finish two games of Shogun 2 before the inevitable crash bugs sneak in) I have zero faith this thing with will be worthy of my time or money out of the box. I'm not buying a game for what it'll be 12 months and nearly as many patches down the line and I'm at a stage where their name and franchise garners no respect on my end, they need to prove themselves before I open my wallet.

I think you are being generous ... it took many patches and at least a year to get Rome 2 anywhere near an acceptable level.

Just been reading up on this a little more.

So it's actually being released as 3 separate games to get the full old world (probably £30-40 a pop) and on top of that there is DLC for races, I'm going to bet the DLC doesn't spread across all releases.

Sounds on the front of it very much like the TW series has combined with the infamous GW in a bid to completely **** over the consumer and rinse them for every single penny. Going to be mammoth costs to get "all" of this game!

Anyone sensible will wait for a couple/few months before purchasing the game a the price will undoubtedly drop when the hype lessens, reviews come in, and critical/user feedback is given. Anyone pre-ordering or paying full price at this stage is merely supporting these bad business practises.

Steam lists the official release date as 24/05/16

If the previous post is correct about how they are going to price it, the release date for me will be the Christmas sale. By then the standard total war bugs should have been fixed and you should be able to buy the complete game (plus DLC) for a sensible price.

Or even wait an entire year, or more, as by then all the expansions will have been released and might be available as a "GOTY" edition.
