Warning about picking your own mushrooms

Look up what happened to the author Nicholas Evans and his family, when they picked the wrong mushrooms (and they got lucky!). Totally in agreement with Naffa.

I remember a lecture I had on mushrooms once... Turns out there are quite a few nasty ones that can be confused with the edible sorts.

I'll pass!

Where I used to live in the Midlands, Clee Hill was only a 20 minute drive and a local hot spot for mushroom picking. Thing is, we had to do it in the dead of night as police were quite keen to stop people picking the mushrooms. Sham really as they made a lovely cuppa...

I don't really see the appeal of going out forraging for food. Unless society crumbles towards the end of the month, I doubt mushroom hunting will be something I ever try.

Not mush room in this thread for comment, I feel like I've been left in the dark & covered in ****.

I think the advice that should be gleaned from this is don't go out picking mushrooms if you are a dumb ass and don't know what the poisonous ones looks like.
