As a source it doesn't have any particular creditability given it doesn't reference any original material beyond generalities (some of which at least are not correct or rely on odd interpretations) and perhaps more importantly the original poster of that thread says themselves that it is just meant as a talking point rather than something they believe in.

The way you presented it implied that it was something you had gleaned from the Bible - credit your sources and such misunderstandings won't occur.

People were merely asking you to back up your assertions with some proof and oddly enough a random post on another forum without a detailed reference to an original source isn't very compelling.

You were also taking someone elses words and presenting them they as your own without offering any credit to the original author, poor form sir.

ignoring all but the science...It isn't impossible or unlikely that a large, or series of well sized, coronal mass ejections could disable large amounts of the worlds electrical distribution systems. It has happened, on a smaller scale, and it will happen again.
I think the most catastrophic thing that will happen in 2012 is the UK getting sued by the IOC for putting on a rubbish show ;)

Shutting down the power is a surefire way of inducing riots and all sorts of crime, throughout the country.

It's stupid to think that a stupid thing like losing electricity would cause such chaos... what has the human race become :(
 
6 days without electricity, I reckon britain would be pretty similar to when we had a few days of snow, everyone will just use it as an excuse to not go to work.

Watched the "Nostradamus: 2012" 'documentary' a while ago, and like anything of this sort it's just full of half truths and missing vital parts of information. The biggest thing they think will happen is the reversal of the poles, which is all good and well, but they neglect to mention or maybe even realise that the reversal of the poles is a process that takes thousands of years, it doesn't happen on the flick of a switch.

Even if they do reverse, seriously what effect would it have? other than compasses, what uses or is affected by the magnetic poles? genuine question
