Was I at fault?

Pontypridd opposite Catherine Street?

Given that she hit a stationary vehicle she is 100% at fault. With regards to claim you still need to inform your insurance company in case she tries to claim but you can use either an accident management company or her insurance to make the claim. If you use your insurance company for the claim itself bear in mind that until they have recovered the costs from the other company you will have excess to pay and will potentially lose NCB

Ok, thanks all, lesson learnt on this one! Funny thing is, its the 3rd time I have been crashed into in less than a month!
This is exactly why your insurance premiums rise after a non-fault accident. Some people are more likely to be involved in a second accident because of the way they drive or park. Others drive/park more defensively and are less likely to be the 'victim' of an accident.

Looking at street view, Was there anyone parked opposite the exit... Is so then anyone exiting would have to cut close to your van. If not then she needs more lessons

Just to confirm here that it is where I said, and that where OP was parked is a marked parking bay anyway and they have them lining the main Street through the town as parking bays for when the pedestrian area is open for vehicles in the evenings and Sundays so OP wasn't even parked illegally

He could be parked in the middle of the road for all it matters. The fault is still with the moving party.

The parked illegally excuse does work and hold up in court, i know someone that successfully wont on that basis in court. However, thats because the person was Illegally parked and was causing an obstruction on the road. You are parked on the "footpath" side of the line not the road so the accident would have been preventable if the other driver was paying attention

Yes mate it was..

And she was ok when I spoke to her today and apologised.. Feel quite bad as damage is very minor on my van compared to her car :(
