You still haven't explained what "arched out" means. Because from the context, it sounds like you saw the bicycle coming, and then deliberately moved to block him. Why would you do that?

He was queueing in his car, in the straight ahead lane, indicating left as there was no room in the left lane to wait in without blocking the cycle lane.
Another car, drove down the side of the queueing traffic to place himself in the non existent space to turn left that the OP had decided to leave open for cyclists.
As this car was approaching, the OP nudged out to the left in an effort to signify his left turning intentions to the car driving down the left of everyone (and from the looks of the space available, possibly even on the pavement).

you were in the wrong, you should've just pulled over the cycle lane - then when you saw him coming you made a move to pull in front of him - and then wonder why he was mad?
