Was I out of order?

I would have thought most people wouldn't buy from the high street when you can get games cheaper online.

I haven't bought a game from the high street in years, you can usually save around £10 on most games when buying online. I remember when 360 1st came out and games on the high street was like £50/£55:eek: and in 1 store they was selling 2nd hand games at the same price as brand new ones:rolleyes:

They still are £50 - i was in a high street gameshop today while my wife was shopping for clothes, PES08 was £49.99 amongst others.

That said they did have quite a few games half price including stuff like Sega Rally and Lego Star Wars which was a decent price.

The last 4 games I have got have all been from supermarkets which are either the same price as online or cheaper.

Also judging from how packed the computer game stores are where I live I would say that your assumption is wrong when looking as the population as a whole.

Personally if the kid kicks up a fuss about there not being cellophane around the case i'd give him a swift jab to the kidneys and tell him to stop being an ungreatful sod.

If worst comes to worst, just say to her you bought it from a certain high street retailer (who dont seal any of their games on show).

I'd be miffed if someone did that to me, however I don't think the kid is going to notice on Christmas day if you wrap it up.

As for you're girlfriend.. you can't really tell someone off if you're guilty of the same crimes. Total joke!

I've watched a DVD if it's not sealed, but I wouldn't go out of my way to open the seal to watch it :p

Not sure about that really, or the shops would be closed :) I still tend to buy from the high street.

You buy your 360 games from the high street stores? Or do you mean a supermarket (which often have prices must closer to online shops)?

Having said that you still get bargains in game shops (just not on brand spanking new releases straight away). I got COD4 for £32.99 2 weeks after release and this is from the shop that charges £50 for a lot of new stuff.

just had an idea.... pop in to your local corner shop and buy a roll of cling film, and then re-wrap the game up in it - just to see the look on your girlfriend's face when it looks really naff :D

if it's a christmas present, then you should feel bad, otherwise, what harm has it done, you've done the annoying bit for him :)

The game is rated 16+ so he shouldn't be getting for christmas anyway

Keep it for yourself and get the wee fella viva pinata or something :)

A 16+ rating has no legal jurisdiction because it is not rated by the bbfc. Anyone of any age can buy a 16+ rated game.

Anyway, I think you will find it is a 15. ;)
