was I wrong?

Happens all the time round here particularly with the younger croud. Thing is though anyone who assaults someone else triggers more or less everyone into fighting mode. Then you're in for a long night of blood, glass and broken noses. I don't fight anywhere near as much as I used to now though, too old and decrepid for that now.

You did the right thing calling the police, but you and your friends should have tried to protect her before the police arrived.

As Killa put it:

If i was there that gentleman would have felt the full power of my 450lb squat and 315lb powerclean.

Needless to say I would have smashed his head through the bar.

You did the right thing G.

I was at my mates engagement party and basically i saw a girl get punched in the face like twice and she ran off shouting help outside this pub, and the guy chased her so i said to my mate "**** i aint cool on that" so rung the cops, anyway they never turned up and they rung me back saying they couldnt find them?! i said that someone who was related to the women who got hit told me that it was nothing to worry about n shouldnt have rung the cops (she actually did tell me this) so i told them to cancel the call and apologised for wasting their time, anyway the cops on the phone said i did the right thing etc but cant help thinking i was in the wrong and sholdnt have done it, like i over reacted a bit? :o

im still wasted atm so sorry if this doesnt really make sense

.... you gotta be kiddin me. I'd put £20 that the girl didnt get 10 yards out of the pub before he carried on beatin on her. calling the police? yes Im sure they would be there in the 10 seconds it would have taken him to catch her and ring her neck.

nothing to worry about lol and thats from a relative. what kind of relative doesnt go to help their relation when they are getting beat?!

The last time I interfered in a domestic, a guy was slapping his girl at a train station. I intervened and then the girl started having a go at me.

Good Samaritan no longer.

Hah, but seriously, wouldn't you have tried to protect the girl, especially if you were with your friends (as in the OPs case) ?

yes but if you say that in here you get called a keyboard warrier im a big lad id have pummled the ******

i generally start fights with anyone who punches a women, and run off before the police arrive.. although thats rare so i have to settle with fighting people who act tough

Good Samaritan no longer.

if that were the case id knock both of them out

It takes quite a bit to get me riled but the sight of a guy punching a girl makes me see red. It happened several times when i worked as a steward and each time it took at least three of my fellow stewards to drag me off the bully. It's a bit of a turnaround to see someone displaying their macho arrogance by hitting a girl but two minutes later they are cowering on the floor screaming 'keep that animal away from me'.

Sadly, I have been on the end of a slap or two from the girl who had just been hit because I had the temerity to defend her and assault her boyfriend. It's a sad state of affairs but truly, these sorts of people deserve each other.
