I had a gypsie looking guy knock on my door with his girl friend. He was selling kitchen towels and sponges and other things. I said i don't need any of those at the minute. So then he asked for a donation. So i there is no chance i am giving you any money. But he was realy pushy, trying to look in side my house a bit and the girl friend kept telling him to stop going on. So as i closed the door in his face, he said, There is a word for people like you. So I said, yea employed.

But afterwards i thought it was a bit harsh. What do you think?

Not harsh at all, quite funny in fact. However I wouldn't have resorted to a retort, I'd have just not answered the door in the first place.

Selling door to door is a job. You were a bit of a bell saying that to someone who is obviously working rather than claiming benefits.

Looking inside your house was a bit odd though.

Yea i did kind of feel **** about the comment but it just came out without thinking. The guy did start off by claiming that he does not claim benefits, to which i said well done. but didn't realy believe him.

They were just normal kitchen towels. I don't need any kitchen towels to be honest.

Is there a gypsy camp near you? They set one up a few miles from my house and within weeks they were knocking on our door wanting to redo our driveway!

It is most likely all a ploy to scout out houses to be robbed. By knocking and finding out who lives there, then they can rob it. You will probably be fine but any little old lady who answers is probably doomed. He cant get benefits 'cos he wont be registered anywhere.

I used to be fine with gypsys etc but saw what some of them do, not cool. Some are fine thoigh, depends who is the leader, they will set the boundaries on any behaviour, if they dont adhere to it they are told to move on.
