LED TVs are LCD.
LCD - liquid crystal display, but with a cold cathode light behind it.
LED - liquid crystal display, but with an LED light behind it.
Its like asking the difference between an LED sidelight bulb in your car, and a normal one. Its just a different way of producing light.
In computer monitors, its all just marketing BS to justify higher price tags. They do help the TV be a bit thinner, since LED strips are physically smaller than cold cathodes. But since when has thickness mattered on computer monitors ?
