Was where

I dislike it when someone ends a question with 'or...?'

'Is it fixed or...?'

'Did you carry out the fix or...?'

Just finish the question, gloit.

The thing mentioned in the OP is down to a regional thing, the above is just rude and annoying.. unless you're doing it to troll someone for comedy value :D

confuse a regional dielect for bad English

When some people in a region corrupt the language in a certain way and everyone latches on, it turns it into a 'dialect' does it? Like putting 'but' at the end of a sentence? Really?

Also, there's no reason the two can't overlap completely.

Just ask them to repeat themselves until they get it right, or refuse to acknowledge anything they say incorrectly.

They'll either learn to stop doing it, or they wont talk to you any more, either way you'll no longer have to put up with being infected by their stupidity! :p

You got your border wrong. The south starts at Sheffield.

Pretty sure you're wrong there

However, with the exception of Lincoln, i would say this is more accurate, I would say the south is below nottingham

Did someone just class Nottingham as south? I'd be deeply unhappy if I fell into the category of 'southerner'. :(.

In Plymouth and the surrounding area they use to instead of from... a guy once asked me "Where'd you get your trainers too mate?" My housemate who was from Exeter would frequently ask "Where's Ben too?" when asking there whereabouts of our other housemate.

This drives me up the wall. They love to add 'too' on the end of everything when there is absolutely no need.

I am allowed to criticise and laugh at this ridiculous and irritating trait because I too was born in Plymouth ;)

Lincoln may as well be south these days, what with all the southerners living here "in da weekend hahse in da country innit" now.
