Some people seem to hate some games because they can't config to either arrows or wasd depending on the original setup. How do you prefer to play your games?

Me i like my left hand on the WASD keys , and my right hand for the mouse.

Too stuck in my ways to change from the arrow keys. Being left handed it also seems to suit me better as well. I'll either use the arrows or even the numpad.

From arrows to WASD. The whole process of changing the controls is a real pain I found and I just randomly starting using defaults for all my games. Definitely the better option and you can see why developers use it as their default. Having number keys above your fingers is very handy for quick gun changing

Both ....... in BF2 I use arrow keys for player movement but WASD for vehicles / jets / heli. I've always preferred the arrow keys cause its more of a comfort thing

Used to use arrows many years ago (ie back before I could find the right keys without looking :p)

Think Unreal Tournament was the game that converted me, that and it got uncomfortable having my left hand on the arrow keys when I got a smaller desk

I know why people hate the WASD keys as i used to - the arrows are clearly defined with no surrounding keys to confuse - I'd still be using them now if it wasnt for my zboard which makes gaming with WASD awesome with over sized properly laid out buttons. I dont know how people can play with them using a standard keyboard though as i get hand cramp in minutes.

The only real benefit i can see for WASD is that with a smaller desk its more comfortable, otherwise is just seems odd to me because of all the extra keys and the alignment is off.

I started off using arrow keys, but then i moved over to WASD because its so handy to have so many other nearby keys. It some games that require a lot of buttons other then movement keys, with arrow keys you have to move your hand further to get at other keys, with WASD all other keys are within finger distance.

Like games with lean for example, with WASD i can easily lean arround corners using Q and E, as they are very easy to reach and positioned arround W so make sense, using arrow keys on the other hand, it would be harder to access lean buttons while still being able to keep fingers on movement keys.

always used wasd, much more convenient, they are bang in the middle of a ton of other keys you can use easily to.

for cod4 i frequently use 16 keys with my left hand and for only 2 i need to move my hand slightly (5 and 6), no way i can use the freekin arrows :/ way too restrictive down there at the bottom of the board.

ESDF is what I use. I think its better than WASD due to the better spread of keys around it and it's still easy to reach shift and ctrl.

I never use WASD keys except for vehicles in BF2 lol

Ive always used V,B,N and RMB for going forward

Used arrow keys back in the day, when the only buttons were to move, shoot and open doors :p

Now, with many more keys required, i use WASD and shift, ctrl, alt, spacebar etc to jump, crouch etc.

Think it was Alien vs Predator or Half Life that made me change.
