wasd replacement

My flatmate swears by TFGH, says there's more keys on the left for the pinky as opposed to WASD where theres only really tabs, shift and ctrl.

I hate it though. WASD for me.
 
I moved from the arrow keys around the time of half life / avp and have stuck with them since. I always have to change the stance, run and jump keys though, as shift/ctrl for stance up/down or jump/crouch and space to run/walk - far better IMO.
 
That there Zboard Merc looks alright, I had the original Zboard with the different keyboard fold-out tings and I loved it, but unfortunately it died in a PSU explosion :( Got a G-15 now and its alright but just doesn't feel right compared to my zboard.
 
I went from arrow keys to home,del,end,pgdn with quakeworld, then numberpad from q3 onwards (I'm a leftie tho ;) )
 
It's not really a replacement, but I've used esdf for ages now. I have more keys spare around my movement keys, less use of the numerical keys and all that jazz. But as has been said already, just persevere and it'll come good.

EDIT: Seems I'm not the only one to have grown to use esdf, I feel less like a weirdo...but only slightly!

I shifted to WASD playing Jedi Knight - those force powers needed close bindings. My Cyborg (horrendous picture - mine does not look like that) has metal-plated WASD and arrow keys, which feels nice, I just wish the thumb button worked on the mouse.

Bit off-topic, but can anyone spec me a multi-buttoned mouse? I need at least 3 buttons, aside from the left/right and wheel (which I never use).
 
How can people even use arrow keys anymore? All the letters are miles away so you've got a long way to move if you need to type something in a hurry and theres not enough keys near them that let you do everything you might need. Plus your near the 1-5 keys (ie general weapon select) buttons.

Isn't ESDF better than WASD though really. Gives you a single key at each side of them (that isn't a Caps Lock).

i havent actually used one but i remember seeing one out of the box in a shop once and having a feel, it felt comfortable but i dont really need one as im fine with the keys ;)
 
youknow what keyboards need, a vent talk button next to wasd somewhere, that isnt assigned to anythign else in any game ever. thats one thing that annoys me xD
